able to maintain the required number of trustee& 5. Due to heakh and famity issues. some trustees
have made it clear that they couhj or mEht not be able to serve their full temis. One other will have
served the maxlmurn of 3 terms19 years) by December 2025 and cannot be reapwinted. West Kent
is at the centre of the planning sta8e for a possible merger of regional area meetinBS. the South East
Quaker Workin8 Group ISEQWGI. The first steps for thus have been how best to reuuit and retaln
trustees, as the issue is more wwjeswead than just us. The trustees from the 6 South East Area
Meetings. a5 a Priority, have supported each other, induding the kW)ssibility of 'trustee sharin8' in
orderthat we all mlBht Corrtinue.
In rnid-march, wlth I￿1* timeto spare befo￿ ck)sure woceediw would have had to be initmited. the
required rep1a￿rnent was found and agreed in principle for January 2026. Meanwhlle other Fr*nds
have been approached with some probable Suc￿$ in time to cover for any further retSrements.

recently, and mostty th& pasi year, Y￿nger Worship￿r5 have joined kxal meetings and show great
willingness to be invoWd. even dÈdic*ed. There is no way of knowing whether this is temporary or
a long-temi trend, lyjt it is very wel¢ome and hopefvl.
Whlbt some members have striven to make connectN)ns more broadty acrossthe region. others were
busy energizing their meetiw and dealing dIreCt￿ and engaging with new attenders, YOU￿ and old.
Effertwe efforts have teen shared and celebrated. Most of the local meetings have re8ularattendan
of be￿een 8 and a dozen. Each meeti￿ hold5 S￿la1 events to f05terfriendship5 and hospltallty.

meetin8s, incorporating them as a natural part of MeetinB for Worship in its flnal quarter hour. This

Rochester L(xal Meeting h05tS the Open House OO homeless project whth continues to provide
sadty necessary servite. They contlnue to maintain a Quaker volunteer presen￿ and are represented
on its Tnjstees. Local Friends Wish to use the Meetin8 House as a communlty resource, and thty
efficourage hirin8 by groups whose objectNes are broadly consonant with Quaker values. Friènds
continue to make knitted EAanket5 which a￿ d￿tribUted to those who are in fuel poverty. Sevenoaks
Local Meetin8 continues to support 5evenoak5 Welcomes Refugees, having bèen one of the first l(Kal
groups to help establish it financial￿. ￿adIngtO thelown's becominBthe fiw5t to be acdaimed a Yown
of Sanctuarf. Tunbridze Wells Meet¢ng House offets YMCA accommodation of young people In need
of stability. Habitat for HumanTty lease the faulities rent free in le￿rn for ensuring the maintenance
of the buddin8.
Maldstone LM hhres its roDm5 to a local Muslim 8roup for use as a Mosque on a wular basis. Other
hi￿15 include a Jewish 8roup and othersocial or8anisations. Rodiester ￿1 me￿ng now has a roo
devoted as a Hindu place of worship. T￿bridge Wells ho￿5 a Buddhist 8roup.
All the Meeting Houses offer their piemises to I￿31 groups induding yoga, pilates, philosophy, AA
groups. craft and mindfulnesslmedrtation SeSs￿n5. The anrnual Kent Ride & Stride fund raising event
brings visf(or5 to our meeti￿ Houses as well as the beneffts of sponsowshlp.
Tonbf* and Sittingboumè Lotal Meetiry5 meet Month￿ in hired room5. AtlendarKe varies but
affords a commurnlty prese￿ and is convenierrtly hxal to Friends. Each maintslns Quaker worship
and discussion.

Quaker Meetings which make national appeals for specifK help. The A￿a Meetlng contlnues to send
its representstwe to Sufferlngs and advèrtlsé naiional Quaker events throughout the Area Meeting
via email.
Individual meetings have been supported throughovt the year ty a kKal Developmenl Worker from
the British Yearly Mewlng IBYMI Wibrancy in Meelings programme. Ruth Audus has anen(Jed Zoom

history of the Soc*ty of Friends. Onty Rochester Meeting House is placed ￿ntrallY in the city. Our
