## Trustees
During 2022 the Charity had five trustees – David Lynn (Chair – temp., Secretary and Treasurer), Neil Robinson, Dermot Parsons, Ian McKnight, and Kyle Craig. The aim is for succession, to lower the age of Trustees so most of the older trustees retired at this AGM.
Dermot took over chairing meetings from David Lynn from the AGM.
## Purpose
The principal purpose of Moldovan Mission is the advancement of the Christian Faith in Moldova according to Biblical principles through encouraging and facilitating religious practice by existing followers or adherents and attracting new followers or adherents. The mission may also advance education and carry out other charitable purposes in Moldova and/or other parts of the world.
## Activities and projects in 2022
In fulfilling its Purpose Moldovan Mission engaged in a range of activities either on its own or with others.
As we know the war in Ukraine started in Feb 2022. Immediately refugees fleeing from Ukraine arrived at the 7 borders with Moldova.
Our church partners were at the borders by the second day having set up kiosks to provide hot drinks, snacks pampers, etc for those leaving. Our supporters were also quick to give very generously so we were able to help all these ministries at the borders who helped the Ukrainian refugees with such support as well as providing buses to take the refugees to Romania where many of them then went on to Western European countries.
Many refugees decided to stay in Moldova and again the mission was able to help our church partners fund the housing of the ones staying.
As the crisis continued we were able to fund some projects like a conversion of an old house to accommodate refugees staying in that village.
Later in the year we travelled into Ukraine itself to help some of the local churches meet the needs of the displaced Ukrainians staying with them.
Notwithstanding the Ukrainian crisis Moldovan Mission continued to help the poor in Moldova a need that was made worse by the astronomical increases in the cost of living due to the war.
We were able to deliver around 800 aid packs in 30 different locations to families in need.
Our FRANK project took off again post Covid with nearly 1500 unsaved FRANKs hearing the gospel in around 40 villages over the months of October and November with around 500 joining post mission new believers bible study groups.
Mark and his wife Mari have been building a house in Romania and become part of a church in that village actually living in the church accommodation while their own has been being built.
This has meant they have been able to travel into Moldova more often in this past year
The mission is now involved in the financial and spiritual support of 10 church plant partners throughout the country of Moldova.
Our partnership with these 10 church planters has now seen 20 churches planted and 9 new works started. One of the areas we are working are 4 counties in the North which are overseen by our church plant Tudor Antoniuc where 2 churches have been planted and a new work started. He is responsible to the Baptist Union for 4 counties. There are 30 churches in these counties but another 120 villages that have no evangelical church of any kind. Tudor has been responsible for planting 2 and we hope to see this increase in these coming years.
Moldovan Mission upgraded Lloyds online bank accounts to add a second Trustee/signatory to authorise online payments. Also, Moldovan Mission opened a currency exchange account with TORFX to be able to send support payments and donations online to our partners in Moldova but also to Ukraine.
The Trustees have not received any emoluments other than authorised expenses.

## **Report to the Trustees of Moldovan Mission**
## **Charity Number 1166263**
**On the accounts for the year ended 31st December 2022**
**Respective Responsibilities of trustees and examiner:** The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (The Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act
***** to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
**Basis of independent examiner’s statement:** My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
**Independent examiner’s statement:** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention
**1.** which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and
***** to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or
**2.** to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
