Section C: Objectives & Activities
The objects of the Charity: To advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Christadelphian Statement of Faith for the benefit of the public and members, through the holding of meetings for the preaching of the Gospel, providing Bible based teaching in public venues with no attendance fees or
charges for course materials, providing a range of free publications which support preaching, the promotion of charitable works and the provision of pastoral care.
Ways of carrying out these objects
-
The propagation of the faith held by the Christadelphians through regular weekly Sunday meetings for the preaching of the Gospel.
-
The provision of open access religious teaching through Sunday School, youth activities and Bible seminars for adults.
-
The publication of booklets, leaflets and other materials to help the public and its members understand the teaching of the Bible.
-
Charitable activities involving the pastoral care of their elderly, both locally and UK wide. Support for families and individual members with particular physical or spiritual needs and contributions to a wide range of charities and good causes both in the UK and overseas.
-
Activities to promote the building up of the Christadelphian community by social and communal activities in the context of the propagation and maintenance of our faith through word and deed.
-
The provision and maintenance of an attractive and welcoming hall for the dissemination of our core beliefs, and which, at the members’ discretion, may be available for activities by others.
With the exception of meetings of the members of the charity known as Ecclesial Business Meetings, all our activities are open to all. No fees are charged. No-one receives private benefits from the charity other than as a legitimate beneficiary. There is no public detriment in any of our activities.
Section D: Achievements and Performance
The ecclesia began the year with a membership of 78 adult members. The ecclesia ended the year with a membership of 79 adult members. The average attendance of members at services and other activities increased slightly compared to the previous year.
Summary of activities
In the proportion of the year unaffected by Covid-19 national lockdowns, two meetings were held each Sunday including a public evening meeting for the proclamation of the Gospel. A meeting was held each Wednesday evening for the study of the Bible to which all are welcome. Sunday Schools and other proclamation meetings were also regularly held. During the national lockdown periods our meetings moved online to comply with national regulations.
There is a network of practical support for elderly members, the sick and those with particular needs.
Section E: Financial Review
The cash movements and balances are summarised in the receipts and payments accounts below. The ecclesia does not have a reserves policy. All funds are held in instant access bank accounts. The balance in these funds at the end of the year was considered sufficient to meet the ongoing expenses of the ecclesia.
Most contributions from members are made by regular bank transfers, which some additional contributions from members received by cheque or via a cash collection box provided at Sunday morning services.
Funds donated specifically for external charities are typically forwarded to the relevant organisation within three months of the donation.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the trustees / members of Pershore Christadelphian Ecclesia
I report on the accounts for the year ended 30 September 2021 which are set out on page 3 - 4.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts (under section 43 of the Act),
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of the independent examiner’s report
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
which give me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements;
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act; have not been met; or
-
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
