This means that for repcwting purposes Justus We￿ able to support each
individual179 people) to a positive housiry outcome for an average cost
of £205.04 per person.
Justus has also SUp[￿rted another 29 individualg (induding 1 that was
pregnant) from a fijrther 15 households (19 adults arKI 10 children)
whose future housirvJ has yet to be detemiined. These individuals remain
open to us and will continue to receive support from Justus throughout

In totsl Justus supported 121 indtviduals (73 adutts and 48 childron) from
59 househokls.

disrepair.
16 were fieeing fromlsufferiNJ from dometh abuse {13 f8mal88 3
males).
1 father couldn't sécure surtable 2-bed accommcmjation until he
had won Custody of his thild. The paradox being that he couldn't
win custody of his child until he secured sultable accommodation.
He and child have now been Su￿eSsfUllY housed.
1 had to leave th￿'r cjmnt woperty a8 li b8cam8 unaffordable
due to the death of their partner.
1 had to leave their Gurrem Ixoperty as it was too d08e in
proximrty to where they were 88xually a88autted,
1 had to leave their current Fyoperty to Ixing burgled. The
police deemed il too high risk for tham to retum,
1 abandOr￿ tsir ternp￿ry accommodatlon (TA) for legttimate
1 had to loave thair cwrent Fyopety due to overc¥owding,
1 had to leave Iheir fv)u8eboaVcrui3er accommodatlon as it
became unaffordable and ongoing hèalth conditions made
remaining there untenable,

Multiple Occupation (HMO) a8 the landlord wanted to convert the
property into an alr B&8,
2 were intentionally homeless so a fresh homeless applicatK)n
wa8 made in their adult chikl's names. and
1 was forced to leave their current prorerty due to Intim￿at￿n
arKI threats of violence from the landlord.

A Couple of Items Worth Sharing
Alongside the Harpur Trust and the BedfcKd Independent newspaper it
was a wivilege for Justus to be nominated as partner chanty for the
Everyday Heroes Awards where one of ¢)ur trustees made a presentation
at the awards ceremony outlining ￿ work we do. This presentation Can

We woukl like to bal￿ve that our tireless campaoning through social
media. informal and fonnal complaints and review requests to our local
council arKI asking awkward questions at our council's Housing
Commrttee meeting$ ab￿rt the suitabilty of temporary accommodation
ITA) due to damp, mould arKI disrepalr has led to the recrurtment of 2
new officers at the councal whose sole function is to check that TA
prorerties are surtable for habitation pri￿ to th8 council procuring them or
in between lets..However, l am certain tha Counc41 would not
acknowiedge the part we played in this.

Brief statement of the
charity's pollcy on reserves
At a meeting of the Trustees held on V Decemter 2025 Tnjstees
cortsidered what level of funding the chwity should hold in re8er41e.
It was agreed that JustLl$ would continue to hokl 3 month's operational
costs in reserv8 up until the review date of December 2026. Based on
current kvels of expenditure (a mean average of 3 month's operational
costs equalling £4.712) then the reserves would be increased to £4,700.
