|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charitys work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para 1.20|This year has continued to be challenging,
due to the ongoing global pandemic. This
meant that, for periods of time, outside
individuals were not allowed to access
Government institutions in Romania.
However, outside of these Government
mandated periods, the project continued to
offer professional health support to children
and adults living in Government care.
While services were in lockdown, the LIFE
Foundation continued to provide advice
and resources to the institutions. This year
we have provided clothes, specialist play
resources and positioning equipment.
We continued to provide nutritional support
for particular children, with medical
supervision by their in-country clinicians.
This year we have continued to develop
our project for families in the community,
with the aim of enabling them to keep
children with additional needs within their
families, rather than having to send them
into institutional care.
We have also introduced a project aiming
to develop the skills of adults living in long
stay institutions, to build towards
deinstitutionaliation and promote
community engagement.
In February, committee members and an
additional health professional familiar with
the projects visited in person to assess the
impact of covid on the projects and to
support the development of intervention
plans going forward.|
