other food banks in the Leicestershire
area. The RDC also supplies items that
are used in the gmergency f¢)od parcels
to our hubs. who in turn provide them to
people in need in and around the city and
county of Leicestershire. Each hub opens
to the public at set days and times. They
then distribute food parcels to individuals
or families 7 days a week. These people
have had their needs assessed and once
assessed, they are issued a voucher
which they redeem at the hubs.

also operate an advice and advlxacy
service to which people can be referred
or signposted to the rnost appropriate
support for their situation. We work with
student support services in schools,
colleges and other educational
institutions. with familieg who are
struggling to put food on the table. Wo
work with local councils housing options
and benefits departsnents, housing
associations and young people's hostels
and probation hostels to ensure that thelr
residents reduce the risk of eviction and
homelessness. We partner with local faith
groups to ensure the vulnerable and
morginalised in thelr Communities arè not
foryotten and can at least know that they
can feed their families. Some of the
agencies that ￿ work with and refer their
clients to us for emergency food parcels
include, social sevrfices. Youth offending
ser¥i¢es. probation, pollce Idome5tic
violence and M￿eM￿laY slavery units).
GP'S. Hospitals community mental health
teams as well as the local authority
community health partnerships. We have
set up a net¥York of organisations so that
there are multiple pathways a person in
neod can obtain help including self-
referral.

Achievements and Perfonrrtance
Leicester South Food Bank ILSFBI has
been providing emergency food and
other essential items to the residents of
Lei￿Stershire and Leicester ¢ity since
2016. From October 2024 to September
2025 LSFB fed 14,635 people. this is
2fA reduction and is a testsm•nt to staff
and voluntoers working hard to reduce
the need for people to have to use food
banks. These figures refiect less people
having to access emergency fcmxl parcels
than the previous year and movlng us
back to prerycovid levels. Our
communities are still struggling ￿ the
impact of the cost4>f4iving crisis and
high energy bills. but are engaging with
our specialist debt and benefit advisors.

are here to lift people out of p)verty. As

and advocacy servffi¢e to assist clients
with the issues that brought them to us in
the first place. Putttng over £1.5m back
into people's finances shows how this is
an essential Sorvice to eMp0￿r people
to take charge of their ovm lives and see
hope and a future. This service has also
provod to be a vital link between those in
the community are vulnerable and a
pathvrdy to statutory services. We are the
eyes and ears on the ground that can
spot sign$ of abuse and neglect and alert
and sign post people to the most
appropriate seThi¢e to ensurg everyone is
safeguarded. We have developed a
comrnunity forum people with lived
experiences. Our first campaign after
discussion and surveying residents.

We recognise the importance of not retying
on one source of incorne such as public
fvndraising. We spread the risk of not being
able to covet our costs. by having a funding
strategy that incortK)rates a diverse range of

sufficient income diversity that, even rf our
main source of income is removed, we will
be able to easity continue our operations and

conducting public engagement, we have

And of course, we receive in kind donations
