Fornied in 2015. the Mission Mozambique Tn]st was initially established to support an existing iesi(kntial horn¢
using vuln¢rable and orphaned cbildren in Katembe, Mozambiqu¢. Aft¢r suc¢¢ssflllly enablillg the home to coniinue,
the Trust h&$. since January 2020, exptynda it$ work intr> the Katembe community supp)ning vu]nerable chililr¢n alld
young pcople.
After reviewing the key objects in 2022 th¢ cbarity continu¢s to focus its ￿tiviti¢3 on h¢aith (particularly HIV),
education and gender inclusion for vuln¢rabl¢ ¢hildr¢n and youug people throughout the Katell￿¢ ¢omJnunity.
OBJECT l - The reli¢f of need of orphans, childr¢n and young people who (kn not have a safe and secure environment
in which to live or who are unabl¢ to a¢c¢ss education by securin8 their reilltegration witb birth and fosier families and
providing extra-cu￿1¢u1ar educa¢ion, skills training and ¢xp¢Ti¢ntial a¢tiviti¢s.
OBJECT 2 - Th¢ r¢li¢f of pov¢rty in the Republi¢ of Mozambique by providillg alld asststttig in the provision of food

organisalions in the planning and execution of communiry edutaiion and workshops and the administtation of
treatment.
Publlc benefit
All of thc charity's work and its objective5 are carried out for the benefit of the wider public living in poor areas of
MOZ￿nb19￿e. The trustees have taken into account the guidance issucd by the Charity Commission when deciding
which ￿tivitieS the charity should undertake.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

2023124 saw major Ikv¢lopm¢nts in tbe activities carried out in Katembe, M07ambique. The safe space library and
Hom¢work Club was op¢ned and saw a st¢ady str¢aTll of Children using the facility on a daily basis. They are able to
complete their homework with ihe help of books and a cojnputer or they ¢an read or participat¢ in lilcracy Ic5sons. This
much needed facility w&8 welcomed by the conllnuttity and plans aT¢ in hand to ¢Kt¢nd the space to eThable adults to
FI￿¢r d¢v¢l¢)pm¢DtS IDclud¢d the pur¢hase of a piece of land to utilise as a training c¢ntr¢ for disadvantaged yow
women. Groups of women will be trained to rdiS¢ poulty for egg production, grow fiuii and vegetables alld l¢am how
to tun their own small busille5se5. TILe fllst youp wmm¢nced training in Marth 2024. This dev¢lopm¢Dt was
generously supported by the Canadian G0veill￿ellt from their Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives.

The charity's KIP (Knowledge is Power) Club continued to thriv¢ with a monthly progrJmme of ¢v¢nts ill $¢botsls
throughout Katembe using inter-active role-play to r¢-¢nforce f¥tual iDfortnation about HIV, Gender Abus¢, Child
Marriag¢ and the risks associated with dNgs and alcohol. This ￿tIvIty has be¢n posltiyely reco￿)ised by the lo￿1
h¢alth and ¢ducation deparnnents who, due to lack of r¢sourc¢s, are W￿1¢ to offer this type of support for ¢hililr¢D and
young p¢ople itt this community.
The School Feeding PToje¢t at Muts¢kwa S¢hool, which started in the previous fllwÈcial year, continues lo be
suecessfijl wlth an increase in pupil retention, regular atte[￿all¢¢ and mor¢ motivation towards leaming. The children
have also started g￿wing their own food on the school site to $uppl¢m¢nt th¢ir dirf.
Many of the initiatives implemenkd by the charity will ¢nabl¢ th¢ b¢n¢fioiaries to become self-sustaiDable howevtt,
there will eontinue to be a need for support for the most Nwln¢rable until th¢ ￿Ucation and h¢alth systems have been
adapted and improved to off¢r the same l¢v¢ls of s¢ryic¢ for ajl.

Whilst the worldwide economic situation continued to be challenging. trustees wcre proactive in their approath to
sccuring ncw fund¢rs which is r¢l]¢ct¢d in thc figurcs and illustrates a healthier financial position. This situatlOD is
¢xpectrd to improvc evcn furtlher in the next finawial y¢ar as mor¢ pot¢ntial funders weTe identified at the end of the
2024 year.
Th¢ charity hos unrcstrict¢d funits carried fotwaTd of £3,674 (2023.. £17,159). Th¢ tothi fijnds d¢ficit in thc y¢ar was
£8,485 (2023.. surplus of £27,459).

materials. Plans are in hand to hold a public exhibition in the next financial year.

The second year of thc charity'5 partn¢rship with LWT saw ihc opcning of thc Library aljd Hon]¢work Club,
providing a mu¢h n¢¢d¢d Safe-sp￿ facility in th¢ ¢ommunity, ¢spwially for girls. A full programm¢ of
int¢ractiv¢ workshops. supported by LWT, was undertxkett by the KIP Club in ¢ach sclwol in Katetnbe and in
loeal community venues. Subjects ¢overed iticluded Htv awareness. gettdeT abuse and pieD]atUTe marriage.

The lun¢b PTograrnm¢ at Muts¢kwa School continued with the wpport of LWT and ANF and progressed
