| During this fifth reporting period minimal activities have been undertaken due to the pressures and constraints imposed on Trustees by Covid. The Trustees have continued to address some challenges including the function of the website, we consulted with Membership professionals in other professional engineering institutions (especially IEMA, SocEnv and IMechE) and we started to explore the options emerging in the last year to use external platforms for membership based on CRM tools. This offers a solution to our website membership challenges. We continued to develop teaching frameworks for Transition Engineering – there is now a short course available hosted by University of Canterbury NZ and enquiries about Masters courses from two UK universities. Holding the 4thAGM virtually on 17thNovember 2020 GATE has also continued its active LinkedIn discussion forum for the public benefit to discuss and disseminate Transition Engineering concepts and attract potential members. The Trustees continued dialogue with regulatory bodies below with a view to initiating the process of registration: • The Engineering Council UK • The Society for the Environment The original target of achieving this during 2018-2019 has been delayed due to the time pressures on Trustees and the slow initial enrolment of members. Trustees have regard to the Charity Commission Public Benefit Guidance when exercising powers and duties to which the guidance is relevant; trustees are aware of the guidance, take it into account when making decisions. No departure from the guidance has arisen. Trustee and Co-Founder Susan Krumdieck has published a text book on Transition Engineering. |

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Enrolment of a further 5 Members and 12 Associates bringing the totals to 20 Members and 35 Associates.
Holding of the fourth Annual General Meeting in November 2020 virtually.
Our main challenge during this difficult year of Covid was to keep ticking over, to keep in contact via LinkedIn and the GATE website, and to ensure we can re-start when Covid allows.
This minimum work has included posting updates to our network of members and supporters on LinkedIn, enrolling a small number of new members, and continuing to develop the Transition Engineering methodology in our own work and networks.
We have continued to build relationships with universities in New Zealand, UK, France who are interested in launching degree and masters level courses.
