|Summary of the purposes of<br>the charity as set out in its<br>governing document|Para 1.17|The objectives of our charity are:<br>i.<br>to safeguard the intangible cultural<br>heritage of Rebetiko song and its<br>cultural practises (as inscribed in<br>2017, 12th UNESCO Committee<br>meeting on the Representative List<br>of the Intangible Cultural Heritage<br>of Humanity);<br>ii.<br>to advance the knowledge and<br>understanding of Rebetiko customs<br>practises and traditions, through<br>traditional and non-formal methods<br>of learning (i.e. oral tradition but<br>also through: TAR 3 March 2012 a)<br>formal ways of learning such as<br>lectures, workshops and exhibitions<br>b) established and contemporary<br>means of transmitting knowledge<br>such as audio and video recording<br>and social media;<br>iii.<br>to promote the enjoyment of<br>Rebetiko to a diverse audience;<br>iv.<br>to reduce cultural prejudice and<br>misinformation by: a) promoting<br>awareness of Rebetiko’s unique<br>musical idiom and creating further<br>discussion over Rebetiko as a<br>musical genre and the sociocultural<br>context in which it has developed.<br>b) increasing intercultural<br>awareness, understanding and<br>appreciation of world culture<br>through music and dance;|





|||v.<br>to promote British values by<br>sharing, tolerating and respecting<br>individual cultural identity and<br>diversity and thereby advancing<br>democratic beliefs;<br>vi.<br>to promote global citizenship<br>values: creativity, innovation,<br>commitment to peace, human<br>rights, sustainable development<br>and social responsibility.<br>vii.<br>to provide opportunities for<br>creative collaboration as well as<br>international and interfaith<br>cooperation;<br>viii.<br>to promote social cohesion and<br>support individual and collective<br>wellbeing through:<br>a) presentation of public concerts<br>that aim to bring individuals and<br>communities closer and thereby<br>strengthening social ties;<br>b) education and outreach work<br>that is inclusive (i.e. aimed at<br>people of all ages, ability levels,<br>cultural and socioeconomic<br>backgrounds) and provides<br>opportunities for creative<br>expression thereby allowing<br>participants to grow, develop new<br>skills, maintain well-being and<br>resilience, and increase<br>self-confidence and a sense of<br>achievement;<br>c) hosting intergenerational music<br>making events which help: - reduce<br>social isolation and tackle<br>loneliness by improving the mental<br>health and wellbeing of everyone<br>involved; - bridge the gap between<br>generations by promoting empathy<br>and connection between young and<br>old; - create a more cohesive<br>community whilst tackling ageism;<br>d) outreach work aimed at people<br>with SEN and those who are not<br>able to access live music due to<br>physical disability or ill health.<br>ix.<br>to support the careers and<br>professional development of<br>musicians and artists working in the|

We did manage<br>to create an online live stream concert series<br>called_Aoide’s Wandering Ouzeri_and also<br>created a series of pre recorded  videos which<br>were sent to residences for people with special<br>needs.<br>We also set up a new Youtube channel with<br>remote recordings including one with 54<br>musicians from all over the world.|
