ust 2025
The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2025.
The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffeclwe 1 January 20191.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Objectlves and aims
The charity was established lo provide individualised education, 5UPPOrt and facilities for children with severe
learning disabilities, multiple learning difficulties and those whose learning is affected by autism.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE Charitable actlvltles
The charity was registered in March 2016 and was initially running in tsndem with the Oaklands School Fund,
now defuncl.11 then look over all relevant activities including piovision ol such items as uniforms and charitable
payments on welfare and certain facilities. Since the year ended 31 August 2021 the School has sourced
uniform directly. In the 2025 financial year the charity was not fully active as the charity's bank remained closed.
In 2023, Charity's bankers froze and then closed the bank account despite there being a balance of over
£150.000 in the account. The Trustees have made efforts lo have the frozen funds released and are
endeavouring to open an account.
FINANCIAL REVIEW Flnanclal posltlon
The charity was not actively fundraising in the period as the Trustees have been unable to defray funds in hand
for charitable purposes because of the bank's unwarranted treatment of Charitable Trust account. Unrestricted
funds carried forward total £143,038 {2024 £143.0381.
The restricted funds include funds earmarked for a wheelchair aC￿sSible roundabouvcarousel of £10,000
12024 £10,000). In respect of this restricted fund, this arose before the full eslablishmenl of the SEND college,
Great Oaks College, run by Great Oaks Charitable Trust. which occupies part of the Gresham Road sile. The
Trustees are consKlering the ongoing treatment of the earmarked reserve, However, this is subject to the
opening of new bank account.
No expenses have been claimed by the tru51ees for the pertod.
Reserves pollcy
The Iruslees are aware of the requirement for a reserves policy but are equally conscious that the historic
Funds balance reflects the non-recurring grant from the now defunct School Fund. Given this the ongoing
income stream is not expected to be large and over time funds W￿11 be depleted by charitable expenditure. The
tru51ees are also conscious that Since the charity was established, Great Oaks College, operating al the
Gresham Road site, has been set up. The reserves balanee will be regularly reviewed and assessed in the light
of all felevanl factors and the level of Claims for charitable assistance have been established.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing document
The charity is an unincorporated chaTlty being a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the
Charity Commission for England and Wales on 14 March 2016 and is governed by a CIO trust eonstitulion.
TRUSTEE Chanue$
