Bridgends Hospital Radio- BHR Trustee Report 

Firstly we welcomed a new Trustee Mr Bill Everatt who was one of the founding members of the original hospital radio. Bill brings a lot of experience in radio broadcasting to the station which will help us to improve the service we can provide. Bill has already initiated a regular news bulletin and has ideas how we can improve things. 

Owain White and Connor Morgans have stepped down from being trustees but will still remain supplying input to the station. 

Our volunteers , Paul, Stewart,Jim, Dave and Bill now have regular shows as Bill has implemented a more structured running programme. They have all made significant contributions keeping the radio station operating sometimes in difficult circumstances especially when systems go down. So a big Thank You to everyone. 

We have had problems accessing the studio as the hospital roof had to be renewed but with volunteers accessing remotely a broadcast service has been maintained. 

Some of the equipment is now showing it’s age so funds will need to be sourced to renew the equipment. 

We would like to thank TJ taxis for their continued sponsorship which has enabled us to pay ongoing costs and maintain a service. 

We have also received payments from Easy fundraising and other donations from individuals . 

Bill will contact local businesses , councils and community councils to ask for donations and this will start from April 2025. 

Once funds have been received the equipment can be replaced with the aim of having 2 studios working. The second studio will be used for training new volunteers and recording programmes. Recruitment of volunteers will also resume from April 2025.
