## Bridgends’ Hospital Radio 


We are a charity that is completely run by volunteers. Providing music and information to patients , visitors and staff at the hospital 

## **Our Aims** 

To continue to provide music and information for the benefit of the patients, staff and visitors .This is achieved at the moment with sockets at the bedside which the patients can plug in headphones which are currently provided by the hospital. 

We are also working with the hospital to provide a service in the parts of the hospital that currently not able to receive the service. 

## **Our Objectives** 

Our objective is to improve patient, staff and visitor access and awareness to the radio and hospital services. We have broadband connection now which enables us to broadcast via the internet. This also enables easier access to social media. 

Recruitment of volunteers had to be put on hold due to Corona virus but will continue when it is safe to train volunteers on a face to face basis. 

We will continue fundraising to cover ongoing costs i.e. Broadcast licences and continue to upgrade equipment and services. 

Achievements 



Also we have still provided specialist shows i.e Eurovision , Halloween and Christmas shows which are streamed live on social media therefore increasing awareness. 

During the last year because of Covid we have not been able to access the studio except for checking the system. We have adopted Covid protocols when going into the studio but have informed all volunteers that only trustees are allowed to got to the studio. 

We are still able to broadcast from home accessing the system to do so. We also run regular Covid updates and information. We also have two trustees who now work in the hospital making it easier to liaise with hospital staff and visitors. 

We held our AGM which was well attended virtually . It was agreed that the current Trustees will remain in post and will have nominations and voting next at next years AGM. 

Trustees are nominated and voted in every 2 years at the AGM. Currently we have 4 trustees 

Wayne Dunkley, Owain White, Julie Ball and Luke Phillips. 

Unable to have our regular fundraising evening this year but are hoping to arrange one for next year. 

## **Our Finances** 

The financial statement shows there was a net income of £2300 

We will always have a reserve of approx £500 to cover on going costs .
