The year continued to be busy, with issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, together with investigating the desirability and practicality of liaising with industry in order to promote appropriate and responsible use of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) for human health, as well as enhancing the publicand industry- ~~f~~ acing profile of the charity. 

The supply of HOCl tablets to key frontline health workers continued. This emergency measure became less intensive as the vaccination programme was expanded and demand subsided following the reduction in virus prevalence. The Trustees thought it had been a worthwhile and timely initiative, and that it contributed well to the general awareness of the effectiveness of HOCl in protecting against infection. 

Intensive efforts were made to communicate the efficacy and cost effectiveness of HOCl to NHS and regulatory bodies. Although no positive steps were achieved, the process clearly indicated to the Trustees the obstructions that arise when promoting the use of an unpatentable cost-effective active material in competition with more expensive wellestablished commercial products. 

The Trust spent some considerable time and expended significant effort in considering and assessing a request from leading producers of HOCl products to establish, or contribute to, an assurance scheme. The Trustees felt, after much consultation and deliberation that such an initiative would not fit well with the Trust’s mission. Nevertheless, the exercise did raise the Trustees’ awareness of other opportunities to enhance the standing of HOCl. 

This has led to the revision and development of the Trust’s website to include the provision of sound scientific information on the remarkable properties of hypochlorous acid. The Trust changed the site’s host service and embarked on a re-design of its appearance and content. An additional web ~~s~~ ite resource has been added by the provision of a “forum” which facilitates a dialogue between the Trust and ~~between i~~ nterested parties on the science, use, action ~~,~~ and applications of hypochlorous acid. We expect the new website to go ‘live’ in the coming few months. 

The mission statement of the Trust is currently under review, with the intention of defining the purpose of the charity with more clarity. 

A change of banking provider was also initiated, with the intention of making more efficient use of the Trust’s financial resources, and to more effectively harmonise funding with new website content and operation.
