TheTrustees present their annual report together with thefinancial statements of Chiswell Green U3A I'CGU3A'I fortheyear ended 31 March 2023 CGU3A Is a UK Charity, with the registered number 1165924. Structure, Governan and Management A- Constltution The Charity Is an unincorporated members, association and a member of theThird Age Trust. It wasformed on 61312014 and the inaugural meeting was held on 3/412014. Regular monthly meetings started on 11512014. The main bank account was opened on 31412014 from which date, membership feeswere accepted. Under theconstitution, all officers and non-offlcers must rètireat the Annual General Meeting and may be rtylected as specified in the Constitution. Each trustee has been told of their responsibilities and legal liabi lities. The Committee of Trustees holds monthly meetin8Sto manage the operation of the Charity and overseesthe running of all its Interest Groups run by members. The Charity operates within the confines of its national body, theThird A8e Trust. Monthly assessments are made of the financial and operational positions and clear instructionsaregiven to relevant partie50n thefinancial and risk management of Interest Groups and CGU3Aactivities. - Method of Appointment or Electlon ofTrusteÉs The management of the Charity isthe responsibility of the Trustee5who are elected or Co-opted undertheterms of theconstitution. Objectlves and Artivities A-objertives The advancement of education of its membersthrough activities conducive to learning and personal dLwelopment. The Charity operates 46 Interest Groups covering such activitlesas needlecraft, languages, history. Tai Chi, singing, canastra etc. The continuous development of the charitSWebslte to promote itsactivitie5and to provideactessto monthly news information and Interest Group actlvSties. Growingthe Charity's membership numbersto over 400 and its continual expansion. In carrying out these 3Ctivitieswhere possible, the Trustees have had fijll regard io theguidance issued by the Government, the Charities Commission and that of theThird eTrUSt. Theentlre operation of CGU3A relies upon thededicated contributlons made by members acting wholly on a voluntary basis. Achlevements and Performance A-GolnE Concern TheTrustees havea reasonable expectation that thecharity hasadequate resourcesto continue in operational existencefor theft)reseeable future. Accordingly. the going concern basis has been adopted in preparingthesefinancial statements. -Review of Actlvltles Provlding a U3Afor around 400 retired and semi-retired residentsof the Chiswell Green. Park Street, Bricket Wood and nearby vicinitv. Providing educational and informativetalksfor members attending the monthly meetings.
