The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Newcastle-under-Lyme and Hartshill, by the provision of facilities for playing cricket.

In planning our activities for the coming year at regular trustee meetings, we will keep in mind the Charity Commissions guidance on public benefit

All grants applied for must be at least 10% match funded. All match funding is generated by funding raised from within the club or by donations from third parties

All trustee’s, cricket coaches/ managers are volunteers, and all events hosted by the club are supported by members on a voluntary basis.

Recruitment of new head coach for Junior Cricket Academy to improve coaching techniques to try to attract more children from within the local community to join the club and participate in recreational cricket Recruitment of 3 new volunteer coaches who achieved coaching level 1 certificates funded by the CIO Grant awarded from Whalley’s Quarry Landfill Community Fund for refurbishment of outdoor net complex. (Due to be completed in early 2022) Continuing to encourage and support girls playing both junior and senior cricket at the club 

Regular use of the facilities for Disability Cricket Group Regular use of the facilities by local colleges

## **Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves** 

Reserves are kept to a minimum level compatible with dealing with any unforeseen or emergency situations arising without putting the club at risk of enforced closure due to its financial position. Any ongoing surpluses above this minimum level are re-invested continuously in the charity’s premises and sporting facilities for the longer term benefit of all members and inhabitants of Newcastle-under-Lyme and Hartshill.

Notes to the accounts
A trading subsidiary"NHCC Sports & Social CIC" was incorporated on 13th June 2016 (company
number 102293881. This Company was set up as a registered licenced premises for the sale
of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, for the use of the members of Newcastle & Hartshill
Cricket Club CIO.
According to the Articles of Association, the CIC will finance the CIO donating any surplus that it
makes each financial year.
The CIO also raises funds by inviting members to make an annual donation.
We confirm that we do not work with a professional fundraiser.
We apply for grants from local companies and sports associations to fund major projects.
During the financial period reported we did not receive any grant funding from central government
or a local authority.
During the financial period for this return. we did not receive income from outside of the UK, or
operate outside of England & Wales.
The Cricket Club obtained DBS checks in line with ECB/Staffordshire Cricket guidelines.
The CIO is run by volunteer5 and does not have any paid employees.
These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payment basis.
