Trustees are recruited from the local community. 7 Trustees have served the charity since 2015. Two new Trustees were recruited in 2022 and 2023.

Sara Elizabeth Watson is the chair , Margaret Joan Bourne is the treasurer and Sally Ann Knight is secretary.

The Charity, based in Lingfield provides freshly cooked meals for local vulnerable people. Meals are delivered to peoples’ homes by a team of volunteers and are served to groups from the community centre premises.

THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED BY REASON OF AGE OR DISABILITY BY PROVIDING MEALS TO ELDERLY AND DISABLED PEOPLE IN THEIR OWN HOMES AND BY RUNNING WEEKLY LUNCH CLUB FOR THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS FACILITY, IN THE

PARISHES OF LINGFIELD, DORMANSLAND AND CROWHURST WHO WOULD OTHERWISE FIND IT DIFFICULT TO FEED THEMSELVES PROPERLY.

Achievements and performance

During the year to 31 December 2023 the charity provided 6,926 meals to local vulnerable people.

Financial Review

The charity had an operating surplus for the year of £1,068. £911 of this was used to purchase a new refrigerator.

The charity having cash surplus to operating requirements, purchased a £30,000 bond on 28/10/2023. The bond matures on 28/10/2024 and has a yield of 5%.

At 31 December 2023, the charity had cash funds of £52,767 (including the £30,000 bond). The charity had no liabilities.

The Charity has a policy to maintain reserves of at least £30,000 to cover risks such as the closure of the kitchen which is currently used.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2023. Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
