Festivals: Foods and drinks are<br>available for any members of the<br>community to celebrate Eid. More so,<br>during Ramadan plenty of foods, fruits, and<br>drinks are provided for any members of the<br>public that want to break their fast.<br>**Civil marriage and Nikah**<br>Nurullahi Muslim Community provide<br>Muslims couples with an appropriate<br>support and avenue to carry out their<br>Nikah during the year under review.<br>Hifz Classes:<br>Teaching and learning to memorise the<br>Quran is regarded as an important element|





|||of Islamic religious education and moral<br>training. We continue to make available<br>this class for young people in<br>Northampton. We are very glad this<br>programme continues to run successfully<br>with over 30 young people still attending<br>till date.<br>**Programme on the Qur'an:**<br>We carry out a full Quranic recitation every<br>quarter to help members and the public to<br>get a crystal-clear understanding of Quran<br>teaching.<br>Islamic awareness:<br>we hold public lectures by bringing external<br>lecturers that are well qualified Islamic<br>scholars; where members and community<br>at large are invited to listen and ask a<br>question on general Islamic teaching.<br>**Zakat:**<br>This is one of the important pillars of our<br>faith. It's said that whoever can give charity<br>should give it. Money is collected under the<br>principle of Islamic teaching by those that<br>have the means. The collected money is<br>used for a number of specific reasons, such<br>as helping others. A Muslim need not give<br>their Zakat to Nurullahi Muslim<br>Community, but we do provide an<br>opportunity for those who want to<br>contribute to giving theirs and we arrange<br>its distribution for approved purposes.<br>**Community Activities**<br>Our rented community hall provides a<br>valuable educational and recreational<br>avenue to all in our local community centre|

## **1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES** 

## **(a) Basis of preperation** 

The financial statements have been prepared under the hostoric cost conevntion and applicable UK accounting standards and the Charities Act 1993. 

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the statement of recommneded Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities (SORP2005) issued in March 2005. 

## **(b) Funds structure** 

Unrestricted income funds comprise those funds which the trustees are free to use for any purpose in furtherance of the charitable objects. 

Unrestricted funds include designated funds where the trustees, at their discretion,have set aside resources for a specific purpose.or under the terms for public collection of Zakat. 

Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by the donor or the terms of a specific appeal in accordance with the teachings of Islam. 

## **(c) Incoming resources** 

All incoming resources are recognised once the charity has entitlement to the resources,or it is certain  that the resources will be received and the monetary value of incoming resources can be measured with sufficient reliability applied to particular categories of activities. 

## **(d) PAYMENT FOR EXPENSES** 

Liabilities are recognised as resources expended as soon as there is a legal or constructive related to the create obligation committing the charity to the expenditure. 

All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs.
