## **Trustees Report For The Year Ending 5[th] April 2025**
Charitable activity is very slowly recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but still remains low. Face to face meetings with participants have restarted in Kidlington, we have enrolled some participants with the Witney group, a number of participants with the virtual group and the homeschooled group had a successful expedition.
Leader training has provided sufficient income to support the charity financially, with some use was made of the expedition equipment store.
Unlike previous years there was significant use of the hardship funds, with the generous grant made by the BDA group expended shortly before we were due to return any unused funds in January 2025. We currently have £2,815.50 remaining to be distributed, having awarded £5,938.97 during the year.
During the year the charity continued to honour its financial commitments with respect to insurance, DofE licences and rental for the equipment store as detailed in the treasurer’s report. The financial losses reported every year since the COVID-19 pandemic have been turned around, with the general funds showing a small surplus of (£601.25) for the year.
I would like to thank David Allchin for acting as the treasurer for the charity from inception to earlier this year, when he had to stand down due to health issues.
Finally I am standing down as Chairman and would like to thank everyone involved with running the Open Award (in whatever capacity) over the last 9 nine years and wish my successors the best for the future.
