This was HCVs seventh year. The trustees remained the same until the December annual general meeting where a new treasurer and Vice Chairman were elected to start on January the first 2023.

HCV has a constitutional document that the organisation is governed by with details such as the meeting structure and disciplinary procedure.

HCV has continued to train its members as the organisation believes health and safety is major risk. Risk assessments and method statements are reviewed to maintain safe environment for the volunteers.

HCV has continued to take advice from two main contributors these are Humber nature partnership and VANEL, HNP for environmental issues and VANEL for the charity governance and wider volunteer community.

To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical
and natural environment.
Humber conservation volunteers (HCV) has continued to support projects
for the benefit of the public.
HCV continues to work closely with PRAX Linsey Oil refinery on annual
maintenance of Burkinshaws Covert woodland. Although this land is not
open to the public it provides a much-needed conduit for the area’s flora
and fauna.
HCV has one community project Littlecoates Academy. Where with help
from VANEL we have brought a disused area back to life where the
children will plant trees and care for the environment. This has also
helped the school seek funds for a pond wooded aera, the plans have
been drawn up
East Halton marshes where HCV have continued to work with Able
making repairs to drainage valves, grass cutting, and thistle control work.
This work was to promote a habitat for wading birds.
Chase hill ponds is another project undertaken with Able on HCVs
Sunday programme to clear reeds form the ponds to enable the newts to
flourish.

HCV does not make grants; the policy is to finance the group's activities which at present include investing in equipment and training for the members this has continued through 2022.

Section D Achievements and performance

The main achievements of the charity are listed above in section c, the Summary of the main charity has been able to keep a stable membership and reliable achievements of the charity income. HCV has completed several projects in the environment. HCV during the year is always looking in other areas of the community to help young and old into volunteering.

Section E Financial review

HCV is a small charity and is able to finance its needs only, the only Brief statement of the requirement at the present time is to cover operating costs, this remains charity’s policy on reserves the primary objective with regard to funding. This year we had a large amount of equipment stollen for a second time which has been replaced overtime with new.
