Alm •nd Purpose
Chrlst Church Walmsley and St Andre￿S Bromley Cross have the responsibility of promoting
the Parish, the Mi55ion of the Church pastorally, etumenically, %xially and evangelically. As
well as both Churches. the PCC also has the responsibilrty for the maintenance of the Parish
Hall and the The Hldeaway (currently let to the unifornied or8anisations.I
Earller thls year, our Team Rector. the Rerfd Peter Reiss dled after a long illness. In September
2024. Re¢d Hannah Lane ITeam Curate) left to become the Vicar of Bolton. During the
interregnum, the Parish has been 5UPPOrted by the Archdeacon and Area Dean. In earlv
December, it was announced that our new Team Rector will be Rerfd. lan Hepbum.

The PCC1s committed to enabllng as many people as p0s51ble to worship In our Churches and
to become part of our Parish Farni￿.
When plannlng our actlvltEes. the PCC has consldered the Charfty Commlssloners, 8uldance on
publlc benefft, and In partlcular the specffic gUIdan￿ on Charitles advancement of religlon. Our
services put faith into practice through prayer and scrlpture. music and sacrament. We
endeavour to enable people to INe their faith as part of Padsh Famlly throu8h:_

Mission and outreach work
To facllitate this work, It IS Vital that we maintain the fabrfc of both Chur¢he5 and the Parish
Hall.
Achlevements and PerforniaKe
Wotship 8nd Pr8yer
The PCC is committed to offer a range of services. (Thls has been somewhat limlted thls last
year, due to the avallabillty of clergy.) Our Prayer and Worshlp sukornmittee meet to plan the
range of servitrs. There is a monthly early morning said service of Holy Communion. in the
1662 format. The weekly Wednesday service of said Holy Communion altemates with a service
of the Word which is lead by our Ordinand. A regular Bible study group has taken place In the
home of a Parishioner. The Sunday Schools at both Churches are actlve and an extension Is
planned for St AndreWs in order to accommodate the 5i8nFficantly increase in chlldren
attendin8.

homes, taken by Lay Eucharlstic Assistants.
We regularly publish eNew5 of events and achievements in the Parlsh. For those who do not
have the intemet, a lim5ted number of the news are prlnted and dlstrlbuted.

Several members of the PCC slt on the Deanery Synod. Thls provides a Ilnk wlth the
Churches In the Mlssion Communlty
Church FatKIc
80th Christ Church and St Andre¥rfs had their re5pertrve quinquennial inspections at the end of
2023. St Andre￿5 Ibelng a modern multi-purpose building) is maintained to a high standard,
although the centrdl heatln8 was renovated In the summer of 2024.
Chrlst Church 15 In need of significant repair to the 8utters, gulleys, ralnwater goods etc.
Appllcatlon has been made to the Diocese of Manchester to carry out the repalrs. the resuk Is
now awalted. Subjett to the necessary permissions, the work Is due to commence In the Sprln8
of 2025. This will be funded. partly from reserves, lon8 terrn bequests and a grant of £20,000
from the Diocesan BuildinA Fund.
In the summer months, Christ Church's cerrtral heatlng system was 'tlushed out, maklnB the
system far more efficient, the cost of which was provided by a small repair$ grant from the
Diocese.
Mlsslon and Ev4ngell$m.
The Parish continues to 5UPPOrt those In need. both close to home and further afield. We
continue to support Urban Outreach. the Brltish Le8ion, Children's Society. Christian Aid.
The Parish Hall continues to be used extensively by outside or8anisations. However. more
recently on the initiative of the Hall Manager, Yalklng Tableg meets weekly to enable people
to meet, chat and enjoy social interaction in an infomial settin& a Yoga class meets twice per
week.

Flnanclal Revlew.
The cost of building repairs has proved to be signrficant. Agreement has been reached with the
asslstance of the Di(xe5an Parish Support Officerto assess and then fix the Parish Share for
2024 to £56,000. with a modest increase for the 2 subsequent years. The support from the
Diocesan has been invaluable and the PCC acknowledge that this is essential to the smooth
running of the Parish.
Resebves Pollcy
The PCC endeavours to retain sufficient sums within the accounts to provide financially for
those unexpected levels of expenditure, whith occur, partlcularly in malntaining the buildin8S.
Voluntee
The PCC would Ilke to thank all those Volunteer5 who work tirelessly to make our Churches, the
Parlsh Hall and the Hldeaway suth a vibrant community. The Church Wardens, Lay Assistants,
Cholr, PCC Members, Sunday School Teachers, Readers. deaners. Tea makers, Sacristan and
asslstants. Intercessors, Bell ringers. Or8anlst and Musicians. 8ardener5. and congregatlon all
work hard to make Chrlst Church with St Andre￿$ an active, sharing and caring Communitv.

The method of appointment of PCC Members is set out In the Church Representatlon Rules.
The Councll comprlses the Intumbent. the Church Wardens. those elected to Deanery Synod
and other members at the Annual Parish Councll Meetin& by those on the Electoral Roll. The
PCC are responslble for maklng declslons on all matters of general concern and importance In
the Parish and In respert of all finandal matters. The PCC meets 6 tlmes each year. A Standlng
Committee comprlslng the Incumbent, Chalr of the PCC together with the Church Wardens. and
Deputy Warden5 at St Andre￿S have permission to make decisions subjert to the approval of
the PCC.

The Parish continues to 5UPPOrt those In need. both close to home and further afield. We
continue to support Urban Outreach. the Brltish Le8ion, Children's Society. Christian Aid.
The Parish Hall continues to be used extensively by outside or8anisations. However. more
recently on the initiative of the Hall Manager, Yalklng Tableg meets weekly to enable people
to meet, chat and enjoy social interaction in an infomial settin& a Yoga class meets twice per
week.

Flnanclal Revlew.
The cost of building repairs has proved to be signrficant. Agreement has been reached with the
asslstance of the Di(xe5an Parish Support Officerto assess and then fix the Parish Share for
2024 to £56,000. with a modest increase for the 2 subsequent years. The support from the
Diocesan has been invaluable and the PCC acknowledge that this is essential to the smooth
running of the Parish.
Resebves Pollcy
The PCC endeavours to retain sufficient sums within the accounts to provide financially for
those unexpected levels of expenditure, whith occur, partlcularly in malntaining the buildin8S.

The PCC would Ilke to thank all those Volunteer5 who work tirelessly to make our Churches, the
Parlsh Hall and the Hldeaway suth a vibrant community. The Church Wardens, Lay Assistants,
Cholr, PCC Members, Sunday School Teachers, Readers. deaners. Tea makers, Sacristan and
asslstants. Intercessors, Bell ringers. Or8anlst and Musicians. 8ardener5. and congregatlon all
work hard to make Chrlst Church with St Andre￿$ an active, sharing and caring Communitv.

the Parish and In respert of all finandal matters. The PCC meets 6 tlmes each year. A Standlng
Committee comprlslng the Incumbent, Chalr of the PCC together with the Church Wardens. and
