## Glenridding Public Hall Reg. Charity No:1165670 Trustees Annual Report 2024/25 

At  the  beginning  of  our  financial  year  2024/25,  we  had  £50,680.67p  in our  Barclays Community Account. As reported in last year report this sum of money included Grants from Westmorland & Furness Council, £9,375.00, Cumbria Community Fund, £1,000 and Freida Scott Trust £4,500. We also received a very generous donation from a local resident of £20,000 for which we were able to apply for Gift Aid, this gave us another £5,000. The Grant Money and Donation has been used to pay for the long-awaited extension. The Storeroom has now been completed. The final invoice from the Builder was £35,970, and the flooring cost us another £480. We have had the floor in the main hall re-sanded and varnished, the cost for which was £3,756. We have also managed to have a Sound Reduction System fitted for £8,283. We are now seriously having to do some more fund-raising. 

Our caretaker, who resides in a small cottage joined on to the Hall resigned in December 2024. For the next three months, we, the Trustees volunteered our time cleaning and looking after the hall as well as giving our time to decorating and doing odd jobs in the Cottage before we employed a new Caretaker. We had to employ various people to do some of the repairs costing us £1,450. Our new caretaker will start the job on April 1[st] 2025. 

We do our best to help our local school to raise money by letting them use the Hall free of charge as well as other local Clubs 

We are very proud of our Hall, making improvements wherever and whenever we can and as always endeavouring to run the Public Hall for the benefit of the residents of Patterdale Parish and for the general public at large, hopefully improving the conditions of life and offering a warm and welcoming venue for the benefit of people from all walks of life. 

We are very lucky that all of our current Trustees are willing to stand again for re-election at our Annual General Meeting on April 14th 2025.
