Our level of reserves at 31 March 2022 was £207,733. This is over and above our policy to maintain a level of reserves to cover between 6 and 12 months worth of projected costs (i.e. between £70,000 and £140,000).
However the excess of reserves has arisen following the Covid pandemic and it is anticipated that levels of reserves will fall in line with our policy in due course.
These accounts were prepared on an accruals basis, in accordance Charity Commission guideline CC17
Glen Foreman, Treasurer North Benwell Youth Project CIO, 10 March 2023
In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that, in any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act: or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across not other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
