The trustees have all been made aware of the Charity Commission’s guidance to trustees and sent copies which they have confirmed as having read. The guidance and requirements of trustees is regularly discussed at trustee meetings.
At the AGM the members elect a Club Committee to manage the day-to-day hockey and club matters. This comprises:
President Secretary Treasurer Men’s Club Captain Women’s Club Captain Men’s Fixtures Secretary Women’s Fixtures Secretary Senior Welfare Office Umpire Co-ordinator Junior Co-ordinator
The committee meets on a monthly basis.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities for the playing of hockey.

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**
We develop and manage the provision of facilities, coaching, fixtures and off cials and all the other matters required for the playing of hockey.
We facilitate participation in hockey which provides health benefits, teamworking skills and social benefits. This helps promote general wellbeing with the main beneficiaries being members of the club.
Membership is open to anyone interested in playing hockey and we provide participation to people of most ages and abilities. Hockey is played by all ages, gender, race and sexual orientation and our membership is available to all. For any individuals no longer able to play the sport we offer other volunteer roles such as coaching, umpiring, committee and support roles.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
Outdoor hockey:
Women – the Club continues to successfully run five women’s teams to cater for all levels of activity providing training sessions and the participation in regular league games.
Men – the Club continues to successfully run six men’s teams to cater for all levels of activity providing training sessions and the participation in regular league games.
With the impact of Covid and lockdown there were a limited number of matches this season and the league was cancelled.
Juniors – the Club section offers regular training session for juniors between age 5 and 18 and the participation in league games.
Back to Hockey sessions and Corporate 5s tournament were cancelled this year due to Covid.
As part of the club centenary and getting back to playing hocked after lockdown an internal 6s tournament was held over the summer for the women and men with juniors joining in as well.
Indoor hockey:
None held this season.

The trustees choose to maintain the same policy as adopted by **Brief statement of the** the WHHC committee before incorporation as a CIO, namely **charity’s policy on** that it is prudent to retain a level of reserves equivalent to a **reserves** year’s running costs. Given the growth in revenue and expenditure in the last five years, the trustees recognise the need to develop of long term plan to return to this level.
