The Children's Hyperlnsulinism Charlty launched in February 2016, kkkstsrted with a Crowdfundln8
Campaiin partnered by Findacure.
The aims of the charlty are very much family focused as Ilvinq wlth Congenital ￿merIn$u11nISrn Is
very Isolating. We want to bring famllles together, wlth chlldren at the very forefront of our mlsslon,
to ensure they meet other familles, chlldfen and slbllws lfvln8 wlth the condition, so they feel less
alone and can forni frlendshlps.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
The Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity supports famllles of chlldren viith Hypewlnsulinism.
We also rnlse awareness of Hyperinsulinism and campaign for greater public awareness of
the signs and syrnptoms of Hypoglycaemla. In addition, we hold family fvn days,
conlerence5, teacher training days and support research.
The Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity supports families across the UK and Ireland. The
Charity is run by w)lunteers who are all families of children with Hyperinsulini5m.

Hyperlnsullnism Awareness Day. This event allowed families to actlvely participate in
ralsing awareness and sharlng their key prioritie5. Their valuable feedback directly
shaped our charity's strategy, ensuring that our future proiects truly refiect the needs
and aspirations of the families we supporL
Networklng: In 2024 we strengthened our partnerships and forged new connections
In¢ludlng wlth Merlin's Magic Wand, who generousfy provlded free tickets to
Chesslngton and Thorpe Park- giving families much needed opportunities to en
quality time together. We continued working alongside fantastic charfties and
organlsatlons, enabllng us to tske part in advocary campal8Tr5. represent the patient
volce In research, and provide famllles wlth resources and exdu51ve experlences.
Advocacy and Resurth: In 2024 we made a commitment to pursue patient led
research. Taklng an Importsnt step forward with Cambridge Rare Disease Network bv
submlttlng our first research proposal, shaped entirely by famify feedback. We also
continued to raise awareness of Hyperlnsullnlsm at a partiamentsry level. In June,
we submltted our famllles 'a$ks' to NHSE. •d￿ting forgreater undtr5tsndlng of
nturolo8i¢al consequences. lrnproved support for young adults, and deeper explOrat￿n
Into potentlal dental, vl$lon and hearlng concerns linked to Hyperlnsullnism.
Supportlni F•mllles •nd Ralsln8 Awareness . We l•unced our new look webslte, packed
wlth new resour￿$ and Informatlon tailored to families, ¢hlldren •nd young adults.
We ¥dded new video content to our YouTube channel and kept famllles Inforrned through
our blogs and newsletters. We contlnued to dlstrlbute our popular xhool packs to
educational settings. We vArmly welcomed new families into our support network and
malntsined our commltment to providing newly diagnosed packs to Hyperinsulinism
SpecialistTearns acr055 the UK and Ireland. Additlonally, we embarked on a 12 month
collaboratkon wlth Costello Medical to create tail¢xed resources for ch¢ldren and young
adults- a prolect set to condude In Sprln8 2025.
Fundralsers: A speclal mentlon to Logan's Golf Day and HI Superhero Amelia vtho
made and sold some beautlful jewellery. We also Wish to acknowledge the support and
kindness of fundralsers. famllies. SUPPOrters and the sponsors of our conference.
FutUT• Plans . In 2025 we wlll remèln cornmitted to supporting familles, developing
impactful projects, and advancing our patient led intiatives. We are delighted to welcome
new volunteer5 vtho will play a crucial role in gathering family feedback and helping US
develop even more ways to support the Hyperlnsullnism community.
