SignifirAnt activitiOS The Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity launched in February 2016, kl¢kslarted wth a Crowdfunding Campaign partnered by Finda¢urg. The aims of thè tharlty are very much famlly fo¢usod a$ Ilvlng with Congenital Hyperin8ulinism is vgry isolating. We want lo bring families together, with children at the very forefront of our mission, lo ensure they meet other families. thildren and siblings livlng with the condition. so thgy feel le88 alone and can fomi friendshlps. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE The Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity supports families of thildren wlth Hyperinsulinism. We also raise awareness of Hyperinsulinism and tampalgn for greater public awareness of the signs and symptoms of Hypoglycaemia. In addition, we hold family fun days, conferences, teacher tralning days and support research. 2021 saw the beginning of the easing of COVID restrictions, with the wel¢ome opportunity to resume our family fun days. We were delighted to offer a summer fun day at Gullivers Theme Park this allowed 34 families a chance to come together and enjoy a well deserved break. We also held Festive Fun Day at Frozen the Musical. Our family support Eroup continued to welcome new members and we worked closely wlth the Hyperinsulinism Specialist hospital teams to ensure newly diagnosed families were signposted to our Charity at the earllest opportunity. $0 they can benefit from our support and famlly network at that most crucial time.

At the end of February. we took part in Rare Dlsease Day, offering the familie5 we support the chance to share their courageous stories of living Hyperinsulinism to inspire and show unity towards the rare community. We also welcomed the Chan￿ to show how children wlth Hyperinsulinism achleve and thrive despite the many challen8es the condition bring5. In March. we V￿re delighted to work with Pelican Prints to design some bespoke merchandlse to meet the needs of our Hyperinsulinism famllie& These included personalised hypo bags ènd alert seatbelt covers, vthich have been very popular. In April we announced the launch of our brand new podcast HypoHugs designed to inforni and update our HI communty. As well as to share family experiences of living and dealing with the challenge5 that Hyperinsulinism brings. These podcasts are now aydilable regularly and a￿ another way to support families and raise awareness. During 2021 we were fortunate to have the continued support of our fundraisers. With fundraising events such as sponsored hair cutting. bike ride challenges and marathons. Some particular highlights were our three London Marathon Runners, a 7 year old HI child who completed her own 26 mile marathon thallenge. a Head Teacher who took part in a local marathon. to support one of our HI children, a pupil at his school. In addition, we had Logan's Golf Day a successful annual event organised by a HI family which is always strongly supported by their friends and the local communÉty. We were a150 honoured to be Mad Chays Charlty of the Year, who raised an incredible £7,297.00 Throughout 2021 we have continued to support research. We have done this in a variety of ways including informing families of dinical trials. being members of Policy Working Groups. prowding evidence and support for research, plus working tlosely with the Hyperinsulinism Specialist Team5 and NHSE to ensure family voices are heard and actton istskén to meet concem& Due to COVIO preventing in-person teacher training days. The Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity developed our own school and family packs. These induded information on ensuring medical needs are met at school. how Hyperinsulinism can impart on learnin& school I￿klets, story books, alert cards and much more. We rectyved fantastic feedback on these packs, and they were warmly welcomed by Schools and families.

We were proud to Bive these out to teaching a$5iStants, nursery settin85 and siblings. We contlnued our popular family soclal media campaigns, includlng Say HI to Sprin& Summer HI- 118hts and Say HI to Sants, these provide a great way to invok¥e famil*s and raise awaren￿. We ended the year by providin8 our Festive packs to familtes In hospital over the Chrlstmas pedod, ensuring these packs were delivered to GOSH. Alder Hey, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, BARTS and Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. All of these packs helped us to Show families they re not alone, and they had our care/support at that difficult time. We pursued new contacts and network5. to help strengthen our sUPPOrt and reach new famllles. We were dell8hted to work closely with Genetic Alliance, Dlsabled Children's Partnership, Youn8 Slbs and new hospital teams such as Royal Hospital for Children Gla58ow and Temple H05pitsI. Overall, 2021 was a year of chan8e and growth for The Chlldren's Hyperinsullnlsm Charity. We were sad to say 8oodbye to our Co-chalr Michelle. who has 8rrfen the Charity so much of her tlme. Her dedlcatlon and drive to the Charity wlll be missed, we are extremely grateful to Michelle for all of her hard work and many achlevements. We were dellghted to welcome two new trustees Steff. who Is also our Parent Representatlve for Scotland and Clara. Both of whom, are Hyperinsulinism parents with a wealth of knowled8e and understaTh41n8 of the Condition and the challenges It brln85.
