## **Helping Overcome Obstacles Peru** ## **Annual Report 2024** ## **Introduction** During a quiet year, HOOP (UK) raised funds through donations from private individuals and from easyfundraising.org.uk. ## **Allocation of Funds** There were sufficient funds accrued over the year to contribute £2000 to Helping Overcome Obstacles Peru (HOOP Peru) to support the Ruwana Project and the Flora Circular Project. This added to the £3000 donated in 2023. ## **Ruwana Project** An initiative supporting a group of skilled craftswomen from the Northern Cone of Arequipa. These women, supported by HOOP Peru, utilise their artisanal talents to create high-quality garments and handicrafts, helping them secure a sustainable income and gain financial independence. ## **Flora Circular Project** This project aims to improve the urban environment of Flora Tristan through the nurturing of community gardens, empowering mothers in vulnerable situations through training in regenerative agriculture and composting, and supporting the ‘Circular Restaurant Program’ as a social enterprise. ## **Impact of the Donation** The contribution from HOOP (UK) was again used to purchase materials to support the two projects. The annual reports on the progress of the projects can be viewed via this link: https://linktr.ee/hoopreports ## **Conclusion** The ongoing support from HOOP (UK), facilitated by private donations, has contributed to funding both projects with essential resources, empowering the participants and wider community to build a more sustainable livelihood.
