Military Education Trust – Charity number 1165473
Report :
For the period April 2022 to March 2023
Four trustee meetings were held as planned including the AGM in February. Due to the failing health of the founding trustees these were held via Video and conference calls. It was decided that additional trustees should be recruited. To this end Toby John Piers Milton was appointed on 7[th] September 2022 and Roland Stephen Phillips on 28[th] March 2023.
The Charity has an increasing core membership consisting of owners and operators of Military vehicles, these vehicles have attended exhibitions and events as detailed
May – Popham Classic Car Show - Aero, Auto Jumble
June – Fawley Show – Gangwarily
June – Overload Show
June – Peartree Church Fete
July – Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show
August – Great Dorset Steam Fair
September – Bursledon Brickworks Heritage Open Days
These attendances and exhibitions together with demonstrations at educational and Military venues were carried out at members’ expences and running costs. This allows the trust to operate with minimal funding and has maintained the members’ interest in the operation of the trust.
Due to the invasion of Ukraine the members’ access to Southampton’s Territorial Army base has been denied so any future plans on this project have been shelved.
The Trust holds Public Liability Insurance.
