Meet & Remember Trustee Report 2022

The Exeter ‘Meet and Remember Club’ which was founded and supported by The Rotary Club of Exeter, aims to combine combating the onset of memory problems with community social activity and the awareness of the importance of local and personal verbal history in combating loneliness in the community. It meets weekly on a Wednesday at the Beacon Centre in Beacon Lane, Exeter at 11am and has a two hour morning session, followed by a lunch.

Apart from two Wednesdays at Christmas meetings were held every week and activities and a hot meal provided. The structure of the meeting had been decided after a pilot period and had proved popular. Membership and attendance were high, and retention of members was exceptionally high, the club has reached its maximum numbers which the infrastructure can cater for. The club benefited from grants from Exeter Rotary Club. It also benefited from a grant by Devon County Council. Financially the club is on a sound footing with donations and grants meeting expenditure. The club benefits from having 8 volunteers who provide their services entirely freely, without this resource the club could not exist
