KESCRG exists to coordinate volunteer working parties to aid Canal restoration projects generally but not exclusively around the south of England. These working parties run broadly one weekend a month. The working parties are organised by the KESCRG working Committee, drawn from the body of volunteers, which comprises both trustees and nontrustees. Our body of volunteers is around 40 individuals over the year, with each working party attracting 10-20 people.

## **Relationships:**

KESCRG works closely other canal charities and trusts to coordinate and identify opportunities to contribute voluntary effort to suitable restoration projects.

## **Risks:**

KESCRG volunteers work on construction sites, consequently KESCRG operates a full Health and Safety Policy including Risk Assessments and Method Statements covering our operations.

In this period KESCRG were unable to organise any weekend working parties due to the Covid-19 situation. We were able to organise a single day in December working with the Wilts and Berks Canal Trust (charity 2267719), maintaining the canal towpath as a public amenity in the Wantage area.

We confirm the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

We were able to organise a single day on the Wilts and Berks canal in December 2020, installing a safety fence alongside a collapsing wharf wall on the towpath to improve the safety of the area for the general public.

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;
