## **Governance and management** 

The charity is operated under the rules of its constitution adopted 15/07/2016. 

The primary way of recruiting new trustees is via 'word of mouth', to those people (usually centre users) who have an interest in the centre and are maybe volunteers or who have a particular skill set that would be helpful on the board of trustees i.e. expertise in marketing/social media. 

## **Objectives and activities** 

To provide social, educational and wellbeing activities to people in and around the Crabtree farm estate. Our activities include older persons lunch club, energy and benefit advice, food bank, activities for children and young people, community cafe, and exercise activities for those who may not exercise at present. 

## **Public benefit statement** 

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit, 'Charities and Public Benefit'. 

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit** 

Many of our activities are aimed at the most vulnerable within our community for example the food bank, was set-up for those who are struggling to pay for food to feed their family, also benefit advice helps claimants.

deliver energy advice and benefit advice - Ihls has really helped people who are
claiming welfare b8nelils to m8ximise the amount Ih8y ar8 receiving. This is a free
Service for the community and has so far lover thè la514 months) managed lo draw In
an additional funding for local people ￿CeIVIng welfare benefits.
We also received money lo set-up a Food bank which is targeting those most in need.
Our Older peoples lunch dub regularly attracts in exces5 of 25 p80ple per week (who
receive a Iwo course lunch) and our Chnstrnas Paty we had over 60 older people in
attendance.
Our physical activity programmè for adults helps in excess of 40 p80p18 per w88k
achievè the target ol doing over 30 minutes exercis8 p8r v￿ek.

The chanty has no specific policy wlh regard to the level of reserves. W8 hav8 limited
reserves but planned changes to funding will m8an Ihat will have to focus more on
increasing our reserves.

and pay for all repairs whith may mean we have to Increase our hlre charges.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Crabtree Farm Community Association (the charity) for the year ended 31 July 2024. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
