The pre-school aims to provide a service to the local COMM￿lty by providirrfj a happy ¢YKI relaxed
environment for children of <my culture t￿￿10r obility to learn through play. Children are
encouraged by example and teachiThJ to care for and respect not onty th¢m$¢lves but also others
and their environment.

The pre-school octively promotes creativity and imagiThtt¢ve play ¢YKI equality of opportunity for
everyone. Children *Jre encour￿ to feel part of their cornm￿1ty by having Vlsltors (￿d by takir
part in visits to local facilities and places of interest in the village. The pre-school maintains a
workin9 Partnership with porents. ￿ it is reco9nised ￿ being of major value ¢Jnd importance in the
education of children. We encouroje each individ￿1 child to progress towards the Early Learnirg
Goals, as set out by the EYFS.

Charirfs activities and achieveffl¢nts in r¢laticm to its objectives in th¢ y¢or.
At the start of the new f inancial year the pre-school fees remained unchanged for the autumn
term. In the spring term the rate char9ed for a 2 year old was increased by 15% to £9 per hour.
In the summer tenn the set fee per session Trncr￿ed by 2870 to £8.35 for a f ull day and by
43% to £6.15 for a morning session. The summer term increases were introduced as a
consequence of the ￿￿tIonal Minimum W￿je increose.
The roll out of the 6overnment initiative for workiThJ parents meont that the pre-school was able
to claim f undir#J in the term children turned two. This hadn't pr¢viousty* been avoiloble.
The pre-school h+ts continued to monitor spendiry carefully. The pre-xhool's fundraisirg income
was higher t￿￿ that of the prior year. In total £3.813 (2024: £2.257) was raised. Activities
included a sponsored octivity. open 9arden event. wly new sale. penny jar, Ewhurst carnival,
sports day, quiz ni9ht and fundraisiThJ at the Thltivity perfOnna￿e.
There was o def icit of income over expenditure of £4,948 durir¥J the yeor (2024; def icit £4.478).
Expenditure, includiNJ restricted funds. was Il% hi9her than the prior year £172.079 (2024:
£155.441). Staff costs. the largest exp¢￿e. rose by 13% (£16,638) ct)mpared to the prior year.
Income f rom hot lunches and voluntary consumobles exceeded th¢ Cost of providiThJ them, Income.
includiNJ restricted f was IIX hi9her at £167.131 (2024: £150.962). The rnaiority of this was
increase in fee income of £13.044. This mode up of the previ¢xsty Mentioned fee increasu.
Rutricted f undiNJ includes discretiow f undtry, early years pupil premiim, deprivation f ￿ding,
Surrey County Council grants. 6atwick airport community trust, inclusion funding, earty yeors initial
teacher trainiNJ and the holid¢ry food programme and came to £38.204 (2024: £34,770). This was
an increase of 107• on the prior year.
Remrvos Pollcy
The income for a pre-school is very volatile. income depends ¢)n how rnany children are
registered at any one time (md dependi￿ ort the birth rates dnd lo￿1 competition. this rate can
fall signif leant￿, especially just after ow yelr end when a n￿nber of children leave the pre-school
to go on to school.
On the other side of the eq￿tIon costs are relativety f ixed. We have ¢JnToiry staff costs
includiThJ trainir¥J, costs of rentir¥J the village hall, ins(HxvKe (IKI costs of providin9 Stimulatir9 and
educational equipment ¢md material for the childr¢

In times where the n￿ber of children is low. we are in potential danger of our costs exceedirg our
income.
To be able to deal with periods of low child numbers. the trustees have a policy of retainirrfj a
reserve of approximately one term's expenditure. Due to staf f costs increosiThJ the reserve hos
been increased from £24.IXX) to £30.213 and we consider this to be adequate. This tynount will be
reviewed on <m +2nnual basis.

As the charrty's trustees. you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
{"the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515)(b) of the Act.
