|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The Association continued to provide its<br>facilities at the recreation ground to the<br>member clubs with a broad range of<br>programmes and fixtures taking part<br>throughout the year.<br>For the first time; rugby and cricket teams<br>enjoyed use of the facilities simultaneously<br>with new ‘old-boys’ and ladies touch rugby<br>teams making use of the pitches on early<br>kick-offs.<br>Improvement works were undertaken by<br>several teams to improve their respective<br>playing surfaces such as drainage and<br>aeration works which has seen the grounds<br>continued to be used following spells of bad<br>weather which previously would have seen<br>fixtures called-off.<br>The Heart of the Valley Show<br>again returned to use the<br>grounds providing a highly<br>popular and well enjoyed event<br>to the local and wider community.<br>Additional funding was provided<br>to the association for damages<br>suffered to some of the grounds<br>due to extreme weather and new<br>measures agreed with organisers<br>to ensure no further damages<br>are suffered to playing surfaces<br>in future years.<br>Major investment will be required to the<br>changing facilities to ensure access and use<br>in future years. The Association seeks to<br>apply for planning permission for a new<br>pavilion building in the upcoming financial<br>year with a view to apply for grant funding<br>for construction.|
