A complex network of<br>professionals and local organisations work<br>to achieve the best possible outcomes for<br>patients with diabetes, but the opportunities<br>for them to meet each other, raise<br>awareness of their respective roles,<br>exchange ideas and examples of good<br>practice are rare.<br>The charity was founded in October 2015<br>by a group of consultants and GPs in the<br>two halves of Hertfordshire (Herts Valleys<br>and East & North Hertfordshire) which<br>cover two CCGs, one community trust and<br>two acute hospital trusts.  Members of the<br>charity include a diverse range of<br>professionals – consultants, GPs, practice<br>nurse, diabetes specialist nurses,<br>dieticians, podiatrists and public health<br>specialists.<br>Our aim is to promote high standards of<br>care among health professional looking<br>after patients with diabetes and we have<br>done this through organising an annual|

We<br>believe that this opportunity for education<br>and networking amongst professionals and<br>other local organisations working to<br>promote healthy lifestyles will lead to<br>improved care and better outcomes for<br>people with diabetes in Hertfordshire.|

Dr Sonali Dasgupta was appointed as chair in March 22 but was unable to continue in the role so Nicola Cowap was acting chair until the appointment of a new chair, Dr Ben Eliad at the 2023 AGM.  Nicola Cowap and Khalid Mirza are not longer trustees and they have been replaced by Ben Eliad and Alan Bellinger. 

The address of the charity has changed since the departure of Dr Mirza as a trustee to the place of work of Dr Ben Eliad.
