**Objects:** THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF GOOD HEALTH AMONG PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM DIABETES IN HERTFORDSHIRE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (A) PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO SUCH PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS; (B) ADVANCING EDUCATION IN DIABETES AND THE CARE OF PEOPLE WITH DIABETES BY ORGANISING CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS; (C) PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO INCREASE AWARENESS AND KNOWLEDGE OF STANDARDS OF CARE IN TREATING PEOPLE WITH DIABETES SO AS TO IMPROVE MANAGEMENT OF THE CONDITION.
