GOODNEWS ASSEMBLIES OF GOD TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2020
Charity Number: 1165 142
I present the Report for the year to 31 December 2020. The Message for this year was ' God is in full control of the world, things will not be as we think but as HE has designed. Indeed, the year was a challenged year in every area of the ministry, due to the pandemic and the lockdown.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND ITS IMPACT ON THE MINISTRY
The pandemic brought a lot of new innovations in the life of the Ministry. Due to the lockdown, on the 18[th] of March 2020, the Church Board had an emergency meeting to suspend all face-to-face church meetings until further notice. As a result, all meetings were held online initially via Free Conference Call App . We later resorted to Zoom meetings through the advice of one of the Pastors during emergency Area Pastor’s meetings.
POSITIVE IMPACT OF THE PANDEMIC
As Romans 8:28 says ‘’For we know that all things work together for good for those who love The Lord, even to those who have been called according to HIS purpose’’ In spite of all the negative effects of the pandemic with its lockdowns and lack of physical fellowship; The LORD brought a new wave of fellowship via the online service. With this new wage, brethren outside Manchester were able to join us for the first time online. We were able to fellowship with people from Russia, Eswatini-in Southern Africa and Nigeria which were all outside the UK. In the UK, we also had people from Leeds and London also fellowshipping with us. All these wouldn’t have been possible if it has not been the pandemic.
Again, as a result of the lack of physical contact services, the Pastoral Board decided to send Song ministrations on daily basis to brethren together with words of admonition. This really paved the way for a regular contact with brethren.
CHURCH OFFICE
We have changed our Church office address from Pod 2 to Pod 3 due to lack of funds due to the impact of the covid
COMMUNITY IMPACT
This year our usual litter picking in the Collyhurst area was suspended due to the pandemic and the lockdown.
YOUTH AWAKENING CONFERENCE 2020
Our usual Youth awakening conference was also suspended due to the lockdown helped them to understand how is always good to speak out if in any difficulty.
LOOKING FORWARD
We continue with our plan to engage more on the youth, as they are the future leaders. The more their lives are better shaped the better for the future of our country. JESUS IS THE ANSWER.

I report on the accounts of the trust for the period ended 31 December 2020 which are set out on pages 3 & 4
Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiners
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act
-
Follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the commission under section 145 (5) (b) of the 2011 Act
-
State whether particular matters have come to my attention
Basis of Independent Examiner’s report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express any audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent Examiner’s statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act
-
and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the
-
accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met or
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
