A great contribution 6 made by all our volunteers whether they act as Volunteers
ot members of the Trustee Board or as parent helpers at the weekly Meetings.
We are gratefvl for the many hours volunteets have spenl to provide the variety
of opportunities open to the young people in our group. Without this valuable
contribution of time. energy and expertise we would not have been able to

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
durtng the year
2024 continued to be a packed year for the Group. with robust membership and
plenty of activrties. The Trustee Board has noticed a dip in the numbers in the
Beaver section. but t￿lieve$ this to be related to demogtaphics. Thè Squirrel
section is over SUbS￿bed and has a wailing list. so this is unlikely to remain the
case for long. Our relationship with the Explorer Group is still strong. with the
EX￿ growing In numbers and needing more rcK)m!
The Group arranged another family camp a￿1 a series of section camps.
The Explorer untt is financialty Independ￿ ofthe Group arvj has a fotmal
pathership wilh the Group.
The f(￿uS of much of the activity remains on badge work.
Our Group has worked wtth District to ensure all mandatory training is up to date
and now has a robust pr(Kess for maintain DBS checks.
Our FaCeb￿k pDffile is rEgutarfy updated.
Our financial posilion remained heamhy at the end of 2024, and we added lo our
reSe￿&S following receipt of a further grant and Ihe Group making a small profit
on some activitÉ&8. We are holding money on account for a substantial
contingent to go to KIJ in Augusl 2025. Our Gtft Aid claim was on a similar level
in 2024 to previous years. The Commttlee reviews the level of subs in relation to
a budget each year and agrees the appropriate level of subs and allocation of
meeting budgets for each section. as well as larger expenditure plans.
Our Truslee Board has been bvorking with representatives of Sunnyside
Community Hall Limited (another registered charity) in relation to settling and
documenting both parties shared ownership of the land where Sunnyside
Communtiy Hall and the store are kKated and agreed terms for the
preparation of legal documentation in 2023. The legal work began in 2022 but
stalled be(xuse Sunnyside Hall r￿1ved legal advice not to enter into Ihe lease.
Despite our attempts. no compromise solution has been found and both side5
are in the status quo without final affimiative resolution. Following a challenge
from the Sunnyside Trnslees. the Group has agreed to rec4)gnise its financial
in its 2024 acoiunts for the fitst time.

Financial review
Brief ststement of the
charity's policy on reserves
The Group's policy on reserves is to hold suificient resources to continue the
tharitable acltvtknes of the group should income and fundraising activities fall
S￿rt. The Group Trustee Board considers that the group should hold a sum
equivalent lo 12 montrts running o)sts. cir(x £11.500 on an income basis.
The Group hekj reserves of more than £34.000 against this at year end. This is
atx)ve Ihe tevel required for operating expenses and repr&senls a c£6,000
increase from 2023. It 15 noted that some of this relates to timing of receipts over
expenses and the reserve is not expected lo be as high at the end of 2025. The
high level of reserves rs eX[￿a]ned by fund raising in prior years to finance the
expansion of Sunnyside hall {which is part owned by the Group) to allow it to be
used by the Beavers and Cubs as well as the Seouts.
The budgeting pr(ws was undertaken for 2024.

Hi Claire
The trustees agreed to add the value of the interest at current value to the "land and buildings" in the statement of

We spent £40,otK) forthe purchase on 9 Jan 21K14 as evidenced by the attached Land ReLTrStry official copy. I have
used the Bank of England calculator to inflate this value and this brings to £69.954.21.1 have added a short note.
