**The methods adopted for the recruitment and appointment of new trustees** (How are your trustees appointed?) New trustees are appointed for a two year period by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of trustees. No new trustees have been appointed yet and trustees have used their delegation powers to a committee recruited for their skills and knowledge needed for the effective running of the charity

**Objectives and activities**

What are the formal purposes (objectives) of your charity, as set out in your governing document?

To organise the annual LGBT event in Nottinghamshire with the full support of the City and County Council. It is our intention that whilst the Pride event is enjoyable and fun that it also addresses some of the issues that still affect the LGBT+ community such as Sexual Health, Homophobia, Transphobia, Policing and Wellbeing. To attend quarterly meetings with local authorities to discuss issues affecting the LGBT+ community. To be seen as a source of information and respected by local authorities to represent the community.

What are your main activities? (the things you do in order to achieve the objectives) Notts Pride - annual event celebrating LGBT+ diversity in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Annual LGBT+ Awards

How do these activities benefit the public?

Provides a free to attend event including information stalls, stage and cultural area and an equality march through the city. Increasing LGBT+ visibility, providing vital information to LGBT+ people and a celebration of diversity in Nottinghamshire.

Please confirm that you have considered the charity Commission’s guidance on ‘public benefit’. Click here for a link to this guidance.

## **Summary of the main achievements during the period**

What did you actually do? (You could add some statistics if you like, and give more detail of your activities): We delivered our annual Notts Pride event of which 11000 people attended the equality march and 20000 people attended the Notts Pride event throughout the day. Notts pride attracted an additional 54000 people into Nottingham City. We had 50 information stalls and attracted 15 sponsors, local businesses within the Notts area. We celebrated 2 organisations at our annual LGBT+ awards during LGBT+ History Month.

## **Financial review**

**Please comment on your financial position at the end of the reporting period** (You might for example, refer to the surplus or deficit you’ve made, or the movement in the fund balances. Are you happy? – the choice is yours. )

We started the year with £7,822 in the bank and ended the year with £32,535, the total cost of the event was £44,700. We are very pleased we were able to raise the funds to fund this years event whilst still managing to keep a balance at the end of the financial year.

**What is your policy on reserves?** (Your policy should include: why you need reserves, the target level, your current position, your plans to increase or use your reserves and how often you review this policy. If you do not need reserves you should explain the reason.)

There is no specific reserves policy as such but the trustees continue to review the viability of performing events and will make a judgement on the size of an event based on the income generated from grant providers and the cash available, after taking in consideration future expected costs.

## **What financial risks do you face?**

The charity has a significant risk of not being able to obtain sufficient income in order to perform its events. This is mitigated by the trustees assessing the income that has come in before making a decision on the size of the Notts Pride event. If the charity does not obtain the income it wishes then a “light event “ - low in cost to perform will occur.

## **If any of your funds are in deficit, what are you planning to do about it?**

**Detailed information if you hold funds for 3rd parties** (other groups or individuals): names and their main objects, a description of the assets held, opening balances/ in/ out/ closing balances

We don’t hold funds for a third party.

## **Funds**

**If your accounts include any designated or restricted funds, the notes to the accounts need to include a short explanation of the purpose and of each fund.** For example:

Name of fund: “ _The vehicle replacement fund_ ” Purpose: “ _To build up sufficient funds to replace vehicles on a 5 year schedule_ ”

We don’t have any designated or restricted funds for this financial year.

## **Additional information**

**This is a chance to add any other information to your report.**

For example: if you give grants, what is your policy? Do you want to say anything about your funders or supporters?

We did not give any grants out this Financial Year. Without the help of our funders and supporters Notts Pride would not exist. We are eternally grateful to each and every one of the funders/ supporters and volunteers.
