The bank account for the charity is 1066 Society Charity, Nat West 60-24-62,  ac no 16160142. The account has been inactive during this financial year. 

The charity was established in 2016. 

## Trustees' Annual Report and accounts 

The charity had a busy year despite its failure to raise the funds from various bids meaning the projects involving volunteers were smaller than hoped. 

The repeated failure with bids for funding is being addressed by working with other organisations and a heritage consultant. It is not clear why the bids failed as they were all focused on delivering resources and training to local heritage and history groups but the modest sums sought increasingly fall below the minimum bid amount now set by many funders. It is challenge being a small organisation. 

One key project, previously reported as being planned last year, relates to the creation of new tapestries for which and active dye and spin programme has been undertake with all the wool and materials donated. This is already a public participation project and further locations are being sought to host sessions around the country. 

Work to excavate the two Roman era roads endangered by local environmental changes is still being planned and await the funding necessary plus the necessary permissions. 

One project that remains the focus of the Charity’s activity which is to provide an interpretive trail for the public although the early proposals were not adopted, but discussions and meetings with the local authority have taken place and the lengthy discussions continue. 

## Governance 

The trustees reviewed the in-place procedures and agreed they were still appropriate. One of the trustees has undergone safeguarding training and the necessary checks through a CAB programme. 

## Financial statement 

Despite significant activity, the only income has been from the sale of merchandise and all of the costs are met by other. Rather than producing a complex income and expenditure statement with null figure this simple declaration is provided. None of the limited physical equipment of the charity have been sold.
