The bank account for the charity is 1066 Society Charity, Nat West 60-24-62,  ac no 16160142. The account has been inactive during the year. 

The charity was established in 2016. 

Trustees' Annual Report and accounts 

Despite the failure to raise the funds from various bids, several projects involving the volunteers went ahead employing the equipment obtained over the years. Quite why the normal funders turned down requests is not clear but probably reflects the tightening of national budgets. 

The key project was the excavation to collect samples from the Roman era road that is endangered by the local environmental changes. The samples have been stored to await the funding necessary to assess this unique crossing. 

Negotiations with other organisations have also stalled as they deal with their own tightened financial positions. 

However, our charity is working with others to provide training and assistance with two major projects being supported. This is again being undertaken on a voluntary basis with some limited expenses being recompensed by the groups we are assisting. So the charitable purposes have been maintained. It is confirmed that these activities did not result in any income or expenditure by the charity itself. 

One project that remains the focus of the Charity’s activity which is to provide an interpretive trail for the public although the early proposals were not adopted, but discussions and meetings with the  local authority have taken place. 

## Plans 

There is a need to review the number and role of the trustees as well as a formal program for reassessing the risk and duty of care for volunteers is due. 

## Financial statement 

None of this has involved the raising or spending of charitable funds despite the activity of the charity. Rather than producing a complex income and expenditure statement with null figure this simple declaration is provided. None of the limited assets of the charity have been sold.
