Achievements and perforniance
Worship Prayer
The PCC aims to offer a range of Church Services during the week and over the course
of the year that our communtty finds both beneficial and spirituall! fulfilling. All are
welcome to attend our regular sen'ices.
St Mary's has a rich musical tradition undet the excellent guidance of our Music
Director, Stephen Bloxham and Deputy DiTectOT. lan Miles. There is a good and very
committed choir who are always willing to try new music.
We hold a Communion Service on the second Wednesda! morning of the month and
on the fourth and fifth Wednesday atternoons. This service along with 8am Holy
Communion on Sunday and Evetwng twice a month provides a quieter and more
intimate and reflective environment for worship whilst our 10am services on Sundays
give adults and children the opportunity to take part in a more outgoing style of
worship. We have also started Messy Church once a month for children and thetr
parents.
Usual attendance at all Sunday services averages 55 adults, and 8-10 on live streaming.
There were 192 parishioneTS on the church electoral roll, 77 of whom are not resident
within the parish. The electoral roll was completely revised in the year resulting in a
significantly decreasea number on the roll but Tepresenting a more realistic list of
church members.
As well a5 our regular services, we enable our communitv to celebrate and thank God
at milestone% of the journey through lrfe. Through Baptism we thank God for the gift
of life. In 2025 there were 13 bapti6rn& and one M'edding. Through funeral service&
friends and family express their grief and give thanks for the lrfe which ib now
complete in this world, and we commend the Frson who has died into God's keeping.
The clersy took 15 church funerals and another 2 services at the crematorium or
funeral chapel. There WL'TV aLso 7 burials and 18 burials 0£ Ashes in St Mary b
churchyard. This 15 the only burial ground £oT the whole of Storrington.
The Church buildiffg
Our chuich is nuitnally open during daylight hours as a Warm Space and it 15 used
