## **Playgrounds for Palestine UK Trustee report for 2023**

Almost £10,500 was raised during the year, less than the previous year which is unsurprising given the difficult situation within Palestine, especially the war in the later part of the year. We suggested that people may prefer to donate to other charities at this time, ones who can impact immediately on delivering food and shelter to those in Gaza, hence the number of people supporting our work through monthly donations fell considerably during the year.

We have not yet heard about the status of playgrounds built within Palestine, but anticipate all playgrounds in Gaza have been destroyed.

Immediately before the war we sent almost £15,000 to the West Bank for a playground in Burin. We are pleased that the playground has been received safely and constructed though we are yet to have photographic evidence since the situation is still unsafe for people, particularly women, to move freely. Once evidence is received, we will send more money for further smaller play equipment for the site.

During the year, trustees Roslyn Arthur, Evie Dickinson, Julian Lewis, Lesley Ravenscroft and Sadia Akram were supported by Nora Allen who worked closely with those in Burin to ensure effective communication. We are grateful to her, and also Rachel Rice who examined our accounts.
