1.5 Resources expended

All expenditure is recognised once there is a legal construcve obligaon to that expenditure, it is probable selement is required and the amount can be measured reliably. All costs are allocated to the applicable expenditure heading that aggregate similar costs to that category. Where costs cannot be directly aributed to parcular headings they have been allocated on the basis of me spent, and depreciaon charges allocated on the poron of the asset's use. Tangible fixed assets are inially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuaon, net of depreciaon and any impairment losses.

At each reporng end date, the charity reviews the carrying amounts of its tangible assets to determine whether there is any indicaon that those assets have suffered an impairment loss. 1.8 Cash and cash equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other shortterm liquid investments with original maturies of three months or less, and bank overdras. Bank overdras are shown within borrowings in current liabilies.

1 Accounng policies

(Connued)

Basic financial assets

Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are inially measured at transacon price including transacon costs and are subsequently carried at amorsed cost using the effecve interest method unless the arrangement constutes a financing transacon, where the transacon is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amorsed.

Basic financial liabilies

Basic financial liabilies, including creditors and bank loans are inially recognised at transacon price unless the arrangement constutes a financing transacon, where the debt instrument is measured at the present value of the future payments discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial liabilies classified as payable within one year are not amorsed.

Debt instruments are subsequently carried at amorsed cost, using the effecve interest rate method.

Trade creditors are obligaons to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of operaons from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilies if payment is due within one year or less. If not, they are presented as noncurrent liabilies. Trade creditors are recognised inially at transacon price and subsequently measured at amorsed cost using the effecve interest method.

Derecognion of financial liabilies

Financial liabilies are derecognised when the charity’s contractual obligaons expire or are discharged or cancelled.

2 Crical accounng esmates and judgements

In the applicaon of the charity’s accounng policies, the trustees are required to make judgements, esmates and assumpons about the carrying amount of assets and liabilies that are not readily apparent from other sources. The esmates and associated assumpons are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these esmates.

The esmates and underlying assumpons are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounng esmates are recognised in the period in which the esmate is revised where the revision affects only that period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future periods.

In the opinion of the trustees there are no significant judgements or areas of esmaon uncertainty.
