**Grŵp Marchogaeth Arbennig Meirionnydd** ## _**Meirionnydd Special Riding Group**_ Sefydlwyd/Founded 1973 Rhif Elusen/Charity Number 1164876 ## **Annual General Meeting Chairs Annual Report** **Date:** Tuesday 9[th] July 2024 **Venue:** Group Caban, Bwlchgwyn Farm **Time:** 4.00pm ## **Introduction** We are reporting on the year April 2023 - March 2024. Our last AGM was on 19/10/23 but we agreed to move the date to the end of the academic year to be able to more closely reflect our activities in the last riding year. BG raised their charge per session to £10 from January 2024. Our charge per session had been £8.50 since April 2022. We agreed to increase the charge to £9.00 from January 2024 and to £10 from April 2024. The weekly charge for the caban has also increased from £20pw to £25pw. We have been providing the cost of majority of rugs worn by the horses we use, including repair and washing. We are also feeding a number of horses, and providing ValeBale horseage to them all. We were extremely grateful for the generous sponsorship of ValeBale this year. We continue to fundraise to meet all costs not met by rider contributions. The treasurer’s report will provide a breakdown of this funding. We continue to operate on Tuesdays in term time this reporting year, but were thrilled when Louise Peeters agreed to start on Mondays the new Cyswllt Ceffyl/Horse Connections sessions. These sessions started on 24/10/23, so all reporting on them will be for a part year. Sincere thanks go to Lou and her amazing helper, Lynda Ansell, for the work they have put in to setting up these sessions. ## **Riders and Riding Opportunities** We will need to change the format in future for reporting activity with the introduction of the CC sessions. We have 31 registered riders: - 9 males under 18 - 9 females under 18 - 8 males over 18 - 5 females over 18 CC aims to provide up to 6 sessions on a half term and termly basis, and while we have recorded the delivery of 69 sessions, we have not captured how many people these were offered to. - We have 19 registered volunteers (including Trustees),all of whom have are able to help with riding or riding related support this year. - We are very fortunate to have 4 qualified and talented coaches (Jaspa, Louise, Holly and Lyndsay), with Sara as a (also very talented! ) coach in training. - We provided 715 sessions on Tuesdays, and from October 2023 until April 2024 69 CC sessions. - This is down to a committed and talented team providing an even wider range of equine based opportunities and experiences. - 630 in 2022/23 - 425 in 2021/22 - 48 in 2020/21 - 567 in 2019/20 - 375 in 2018/19 - 420 in 2017/18 Aelod o _**Gymdeithas Marchogaeth I’r Anabl**_ yn ymgorffori Gyrru Cerbydau A member of the _**Riding for the Disabled Association**_ incorporating Carriage Driving Rhif Elusen/Charity Number 244108 **Grŵp Marchogaeth Arbennig Meirionnydd** ## _**Meirionnydd Special Riding Group**_ Sefydlwyd/Founded 1973 Rhif Elusen/Charity Number 1164876 - 394 in 2015/16 - 757 in 2014/15 - We finally made it back down to the National Championships in July 2023. Sadly we were only able to enter a limited group of riders to the Qualifiers due to weight restrictions on the CSRC horses available. - We held a extremely successful Open to mark the groups 50[th] Anniversary, and were thrilled to raise over £1200 and meet again so many friends, old and new, of the group. - It was agreed holding the Open Day on a Saturday was to be continued, and we have just held another highly enjoyable and successful day. ## **Conclusion** We were again fully operational this year, the days of the pandemic fortunately a distant memory. We continue to receive praise for the work of the group, and that is down to an amazing team who support our fantastic and inspirational participants. This year our fundraising focus is on replacing some of aging tack and refurbishing our caban. We cannot do any of it without the support we receive from our exceptional trustees, helpers, participants, their families and carers, and for that we are so very thankful.
