The trustees present their raport with the financial statements of the charity for thè year ended
31 August 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting aiid Reporting by Charities..
Statement of Re¢ommeniJed Practice applicable to charities preparing their accoijnls in accordan￿ with the
Finana81 Reptsrting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of I[elar￿ IFRS 102} {8ffective 1 January
2019).
OBJECTIVES AND AcTIV￿lEs
Oblectlves and aims
The charity was set up in 2009 In memory of a special littl8 girt, Georgia, who attended Holty Grove School,
and sadly passed away due lo 111 health. The purpose of the charity is lo raise money for our pupils, who
have leaming difficulties and disabilities. along with their families. The Georgia Fourte Butterfy Fund was
iegistered with the charity Commission on 15th December 2015.
Our main objective as set out in our governing document is to enhance the lives of children with special
needs att8nding Holly Grove School and their families I carerg. as detemiined by th& trustees, Includlng the
provision of grant funding. We want to raise monoy to benefit our pupils and their pa￿nts.
The Georgia Fourie Helping Hand 15 part of The Georgia Fourie Butterfy Fund. 'The Helping Hand Grant Is
award8d ￿lce a year to families identified by a panel made up from tho trustees of the Butteffly Fund, who
have no connection to any pupils al the sch)ol, therefore making tho dacision of which families lo choose
impartial. The decision will be made from Ihe information given by the families on the completed application
form, those that meet the criteria will be decided by Ihe panel. Those who have been successful are not
eligible to apply again for 12 months. Onc8 a family have received il tswce they are no longer eligible to
apply. There are windows of opportunity, January and Seplembar. No lale applications are acceplgd
although families can requ6s1 their application lo be deferred lo the next window. The Helping Hand grant is
aimed at promoting positive life outcomas. primarily for the child att￿dIng Holly Grove bul also for the whole
family.

have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
The Georgia Fourie Butteffly Fund is proud to present the end of year report detailing our activities.
fundraising efforts and how we have allocated our funds this year. This year has been incredibly succ8ssful
thanks to the support from our board of trustees, Holly Grove staff, parents, volunteers, donors and the
ommunity. We have exce8ded our fundraising goals for this year, allowing us lo make a signrficant impact
on the lives of many childr8n and families.
Fundraisin Activities and Income
nsored Event- Summit or Nothin
We kickad th8 yaar off with a sponsored event organised by Katie Walker ané Rebecca Taylor. Staff gav8 UP
their weekend to dimb Ben Nevis and what an incredible journey they had. There were tears of joy, laughter,
a lost engagemenl ring and a lost teammate (both eventually found) but they made it to the lop in just over 4
hours and raised over £1.500. Well done everyonel
Annual Charit Ni ht- Bonkers Bin o
Our annual charity night featured a wacky blngo event that was attended by over 100 people and enjoyed by
all. This event raised over £1,300.
Chrlstmas Markets
Our Christmas markets were a huge hil this year with our stslls and activities bringing in over £2.000. Olaf
from Frozen was a big hil with the children and at one-poinl people were queueing out the door. A hugety
successful event.
Christmas Presents
Every child at Holly Grove was given a Christmas present this year, we even had some special guests from
the Rotary Club come into school and present them lo each child.
Wr6alh Makin
Our staff wreath making workshop was a hit. Thanks lo Aisling carruthe￿, EYFS lead who organised
everything and helped us raise £313. We are looking forward to doing this again al Chrfslmas.
100 Club
Our 100 club ¢onlinues to provide a steady slream of income throughout the year thanks to the regular
contributions from our dedicated membets.
Joan Oliver
Joan Oliver has been knitting teddigs and holding raffles in her assisted living Complex and has raised £550
for our charity including gtft aid. Joan's sons both attended Primrose Hill Yea￿ ago and she likes to support
us where she can.

Phillip Smith. whose partner TerTi worf(s at Holly Grove, ran 100 miles in under 24 hours from Bamburgh
Castle lo Edinburgh Casue to raise money for our Charity. He smashed his target of raising £2.000.

How we S nt our Funds
Mer
Berries After School Club
We have continued to fund Mery Berries for another year. We have been successful for the wraparound
grant from the govemmènt so from September 2025 we will no longer fund Merry Berries.
Holida Club
We received funding from Cash4Kids which covered two days in February half tèrm. They kicked off with
Valentine's Day activities, the children decorated heart cookies, created hearts with homemade playdoh and
enjoyed s&nsory exploration. Day two was Circus Day. With cotton candy, popcorn and spaghetti ¢lowns
the excitement was non stop.
28 Children attended holiday dub and had a fantastic time. In May we were able to offor anothgr tsvo
days of holiday club. The children enjoyed engaging in the stories supe￿On￿ and Little Red Riding Hood.
They explored hands-on sensory activities inswred by the stori8s, got cr8alive with themed crafts. and truly
let their imaginations run wikll
29 Ghildren attended the hollday dub and had a fantastic time. The feedbad( from parents was so positive
and they are looking forward lo the next holiday elub.
Pa￿nt Wellbein
Worksho
Our Mental Health Lead, Rebecca Taylor. organised a sgrigs of wellbeing workshops for parents at Holly
Grove. Aiming lo support and enhance parents. mental health and wellbeing, Rebeeca led a six-week
programme featuring activities such as cooking classes, yoga. wreath making, art sessions, and a Jacob's
join to celebrate the final week. The workshops were a huge hil with parents. and the feedback we received
was overwhelmingly positive. The programme was g&nerou$ty funded by the charity.
Class Resources
In our last charity maeting we all agreed to give classes £100 each lo spend on resources that aren't covered
by th9 school budgevloo expensive to go through YPO, Sensory Direct elc. 5 classes have spent their
allowanc8 so far and purchased..

Black ool Residential
Our Blackpool Residential Trip was paruy fvnded by Happy Days Children's Charity and partly funded by The
Georgia Fourie Butteffly Fund. 16 children have each spent 2 nights in Blackpool and visitèd the Circus, the
zoo, tho ￿aCh, the Gruffalo Clubhouse and the SeaLif8 C8nlre. For some of th&se chlldren this was their
first holiday. Everyone had an amazing time.

Our Emergency Fund has been a￿$S$ed five limes this year. Some of th8 iteffts include wheel¢halr
accessories. emergency food parcel and a pair of glasses.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Flnanclal position
In the year there have been incoming r8sources of £47,349 and we hav8 expend6d £62.682, which has left
the charrty with a net deficit of £15,333 al the year end.
There are toL71 res6Nes of £21.215, of which £68 is re$tri¢ted lo spending on the Hollday Club.
Reserves poll¢y
We need to keep money in resèrves for the upkeep of our 7 sealer cars. We offer grants twice a year so we
need to be able to fund these. We give a yearly don8tion to Holly Grove School to fund school trips and for
ChrSslmas presents for the children, and the fvrture events we have planned we nged money to pay deposits
and buy resources for these. We are also funding our Merry Berries after school ¢lub 50 we need money in
reserves lo be able to fund this each month unlil September 2025 when the Government grant lakes over.
FUTURE PLANS
We are inGredibly grateful for the continued support we receive Irom communty, donors, staff, parents
and volunteers. Your contributions have allowed us to Support numerous families and children and make a
meaningful differenc8 in their lives. We look fO￿ard to another successful year ahead and are excited about
our upcoming event and initiatives.
We continue to value the importance of the Trsidenlial visits for our pupils in both Lower school and Upper
schcd. We have commltted to raising £3,000 lo cover the cost of these trips.
We will need £1,000 for our emergerw fund to provide support to families facing finan¢ial crisis.
We will provide our 'Helping Hand, grant of £1.500 to support Parents with appropriate resourceslactivities
during times of financial hardship.
We require £2,200 to support tho sthool fund whlch contribules lo extrawcurricular adivities induding
educational visits.
With ever tighter budgets within School we would like lo provide £2,000 towards Gurriculum enhancement
days and experiènces such as music, drama, Zoo Lab elc. to ensure our pupils access a broad, balanced
and exciting curriculum.
This year. we are committed to enhancing our pupils. learning and experiences outside of the classroom and
also lo ensure they feel a v8lu8d part of the community. We are hoping to provide more opportunilias for
links wilh other schools and community organisations and aim to ensure our pupils are able lo do thls safely.
As well as fund the upkeep of our current vehi¢lgs, we hope to purchase a wheelchair acc68sible vehicle,
that will enable pupils to access the visrts with their peers wilhoul the need for a minibus (something that is
becoming increasingly difficult due to license restrictions).
We aim to raise funds for all projects through a Charity Night, Christmas Markets, Butterfiy Ball and other
one off fundraising events throughout the year and throu9h charitable donations.

The Georgi? Fourie Butterlly Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, reglstered charfty., No. 114871
(England & Walesl.
The organisation is govgmed by Constitution of a Charitable Incorporated Organisatton.
Organlsatlonal structure
The charity board is made up of people from different sectors including school staff. pargnts and memb8rs of
the wider community. The current board of trustees was appointed at an AGM held in October 2023.
Trustees are appointed for a period of three years after which they are eligible for re-appointment.
The tnjgtees are responsible for thg tharivs govemance and ils use of funds. The day to day managomgnl
ofthe charitys affairs have been delegated to Katie Wood.
The trustees do not re￿1ve any payment or ben8fil in kind from the charity and rjo not have any financial
interest in the suppty of goods or services lo the charty.
Some of the trustees are employed by the charity in the capacity of Support Workgrs for thg charivs after
school club Merry Berries. This work and the romuneralion of which, is separate from the govemanGe of the
charity and the individuals. roles as trustees.

In accordance with guidance from the Charities Commission, receipts and payments reported in thls
