LOCKLEAZE SPORTS CENTRE TRUST INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S REPORT ICONTINUEDI TO THE TRUSTEES OF LOCKLEAZE SPORTS CEf4TRE TRusr Our approach was as follows- We identified areas of law5 and regula￿OrtS that could reasonably be expected to have a material afect on the financial ststements from our Beneral sector experience, and through discussion with the trustees and other management las required by auditing standards). and discussed with the trustees and other management the policies and procedure5 reBarding compliance with laws and regulations (see belowl- We identified the following areas as those most Ilkely to have such an effect.. health and safety,. General Data Protection Regulation IGDPRI,. fraud: bribery and corruption, and employment law. Auditing standards limit the required audit procedures to identify non-compliance with these laws and regulations to enquiry of the trustees and other manaBement and inspe¢tlon of regulatory and legal correspondence. if any. The identified actual or suspected norrfompliance w3s not suffi¢lently significant to our audit to result In our response being identified as a key audit matter. We ¢onsSdered the legal and regulatory frameworks directly applicable to the financial statement5 reporting framework IFRS 102, the Companies Act 2¢Th and the Charit6es Act 20111 and the relevant tax complSance regulations in the UK.. We considered the nalure of the 8roup'5 operations, the control environment and financial performance. We communicated identified laws and re8ulations throughout our team and remained alert to any Indicattons of non-compliance throughout the audit,. We considefed the procedures and Controls that the group has establlshed to address risks Identi￿d, or that otherwise prevent, deter and detect fraud.. and how senior mana8ement monitors those pro8ramme5 and controls. Based on thls understanding we designed our audit procedures to identlfy non-compliance wlth such laws and regulations. Where the risk was ¢onsi(Jered to be higher, we performed audlt procedures to address each identihed fraud rlsk. These procedures included testing manual journals,. reviewin8 the flnan¢lal ststement disclosure5 and testin8 to supportin8 do¢umeniation,' performin8 analytical procedures,. and enquirin8 of management, and were designed to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements wère fr& from fraud or error. Owlng to the inherent limitations of an audit. there is an unavoidable risk that we may not have detected some material mis5tatement5 in the financial stattmen15, even thou8h we have properly planned and performed our audlt in accordance with auditin8 Standards. For example. the further removed non-compliance wlth laws and regulations liriegularitiesl is from the events and transactions reflected in the linancial statements. the less likely the inherently limited procedures required by auditing standards would identify it. The risk is a150 8re3ter regarding irre8ulaTitie5 occurrin8 due to frdud rdther than error, as fraud involves intentional c0￿ealMent, for8ery, colluslon, omission or misrepresentation.
