LOCKLEAZE SPORTS CENTRE TRUST INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S REPORT ICONTINUEDI TO THE TRUSTEES OF LOCKLEAZE SPORTS CETrmlE TRU Our approach wa5 as follows.. We identifi.ed areas of laws and regulab'ons that could reasonably be expected to have a material thect on the financial statements from our general sector experience. and throu8h discussion with the trusiees and other management las required by auditing 5tandardsl. and discussed with the tru5tee5 and other management the policies and proceduie5 regarding compliance with laws and regulations lsee below).. We identified the following areas as those most likely to have such an effect.. health and safety., General Data Protection Regularion IGDPRI., fraud., bribery ènd corruption, and employment law. Auditin8 stsndards limit the rèquired audit procedures to identsfy non-compliance with these laws and regulations tg enquiry of the tiustees and other management and inspection ol regulatory and legal correspondence. if any. The itlentified actual or suspected non-cornpliance was not suffi'cientlv Si8nilitant to aur audit to result in ovr response bein8 idenbhed a5 a key audit matter. We considered the legal and regulatory frameworks directly applicable to the hnancial statements reporting framework IFRS 102. the Companies Act 2CX)6 and the Charities Att 20111 and the relevant tax ¢ompliance regulations in the UK,. We tonsidered the nature of the gfOUP'S operation5, the control enviroftment and financial performance. We corrmunicated identified laws and regulations throughout our team and remained alert io any indications of non-complian¢e thr¢*u8hout ihe audit- We considered the protedures and conirols that the group has estsblished to address risks identified. or that otherwise prevent. deter and detect fraud; and how senior management monitors those pro8rammes and controls. Based on thls understanding we desi8ned our audit procedures to idenfjfy non-compliance with such law5 and regulattons. Where the risk was considered to be hi8her, we performed audit procedures to address each identhfied fraud risk. These procedures included testr'n8 manual journals., reviewin8 the financial 5trtement disclosures and testing to supporbn8 documentation.. performing analytical procedures; and enquirin8 of management, and were designed to prwde reasonable assuran¢e ihat the financial statements were Fr￿ from fraud or error. Owing to the inherent limiiattons of an audit. there is an unavoidable risk that we may not have detected some material misstatements in the linantial statements. even though we have properly planned and performed our audit in accordance with auditing standards. For example. the further removed noTrcompliance with laws and regulations lirregularitiesl is from the events and transattfons reflected in the financial ststements, the less likelv the inherently limited procedures required by auditing standards would identify it. The risk 15 a150 8reater regarding irre8ularities occurrin8 dye to fraud rather than errof. as fraud involves intentional (0￿ealment, f¢r8ery, collusion. omission or misTepre5entation.
