## **Objectives and Activities**
The charity’s primary objective is to promote and provide access to wheelchair dance classes and wheelchair skills courses.
The weekly classes in Manchester were established in March 2016 following the set up of the charity and 2 amounts of funding to cover the training of the volunteer teachers and room hire for the first year of classes along with equipment needed to set up.
## **Achievements and Performance**
Our fortnightly social classes continued throughout the year, however we have been suffering from low numbers of regular attendees, which led to many classes being cancelled at short notice to conserve funds.
It was hoped that numbers would increase, and some dancers would look to progress to competitive dancing.
Competitive classes stopped as there were no dancers competing.
## **Financial Review**
No general funding has been applied for during the financial year as funding streams for disability and sport are few and far between. We have continued to use reserves to fund the social classes and overheads. There is still enough unrestricted funding on reserve to keep this ongoing for another year.
Restricted Funds continue to be retained and will be used for ongoing projects as was their original purpose.
Any remaining have been written off as they have no value. This is reflected in a write off to the Profit / Loss account. Note this has no impact on the charity’s cash position and is simply an accounting calculation. The balance sheet now reflects the actual cash position.
## **Passing of Co-Founder**
As was reported in last year’s annual report, we sadly lost our Co-Founder, Paula Moulton in June 2023. Paula’s passing has been a huge loss to our charity. It restricts our ability to provide workshops and demonstration/performances.
## **Future plans**
Following what has been a difficult year, the trustees are to discuss future plans in the coming months as to how the charity continues to support wheelchair dancing locally and nationally.
