## **Minutes of The Stogumber Festival Annual General meeting**

Held on Monday 21 February 2022 via Zoom

Present: Lance Moir, Tom Vesey, Marilyn Bramall, Jeremy Foley, Jamie Robertson, Graeme Ryan

## Apologies: Anne Howe

Lance welcomed those present and before he began the main business of the meeting, he stated that Anne Howe had tendered her resignation as a Trustee. Anne is in hospital recovering from an operation and felt that she could not continue being a Trustee for the present time. Lance had reluctantly accepted this as the Trustees had appreciated her thoughtful contributions during her tenure. The Stogumber Festival and the promotion of music and arts were very close to her heart. Lance hoped that Anne would make a good recovery and on behalf of the Trustees stated that we would welcome her back when she felt she was able.

Minutes of the last AGM dated 2 March 2021 were unanimously accepted as a true record.

## **Chairman’s Report**

Lance reported on the one concert that was held in St Mary’s Church on 14 August 2021. Jacob and Drinkwater the artistes, were very well received and it was interesting to see that quite a few people of the audience were from outside of the village which proved that they have quite a following. It was a successful evening and money had been raised for the Church and for the Stogumber School mini bus appeal.

Whilst giving his report, Lance stated that with the forthcoming Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in June, he recommended that the Festival Committee could make a donation of up to £500.00 towards a concert or artist performance that the Jubilee Committee might put on over the long Jubilee weekend in Stogumber. We could also help with any booking arrangements for a suggested artiste(s). Jamie proposed that the offer be put to the Jubilee Committee, Graeme seconded it and all those present were in agreement. A Village Jubilee celebration meeting is to be held on 3 March at The White Horse and it was hoped that there would be a representative attending from the Festival Committee to put forward this suggestion.

**Website:** It was unanimously agreed to continue paying for the Website maintenance at £120 per year

## **Treasurer’s Report**

## **The Accounts: Year ending 2021**

With a balance in the bank of £2,800.00 These accounts were approved by those present.

## **Election of Trustees**

Apart from Anne Howe’s resignation, it was unanimously agreed that all those present (including, Bettina Walker and Elaine Watson) would continue as Trustees for the following year.

Marilyn to complete the Annual Return for the Charity Commission and file the Accounts.

## **Any Other Business**

Jamie Robertson stated that some music and artistic performances were again possible in West Somerset through TakeArt! as they had received some grant-aid from the Somerset West and Taunton Council. He would keep an eye out and inform Lance and Bettina of any interesting possibilities.

There being no other business the meeting closed at 5.45 pm
