**Objects:** THE CHARITABLE PURPOSES OF THE U3A ARE:TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND IN PARTICULAR THE EDUCATION OF PEOPLE NOT IN FULL TIME GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT WHO ARE IN THEIR THIRD AGE (BEING THE PERIOD OF TIME AFTER THE FIRST AGE OF CHILDHOOD DEPENDENCE AND THE SECOND AGE OF FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT AND/OR PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY) RESIDING IN MAIDSTONE AND ITS SURROUNDING LOCALITY.

**Activities:** This Organisation is non profit-making, non-religious and non-political.  Its aim is to promote and support the benefits of learning in later life  through self help learning. The Third Age is open to all in their third age at a time when they are no longer in full employment. Members promote the values of life long learning and the positive attributes of belonging to the U3A.
