The charity's objects are:

1) The advancement of the Hindu religion, in particular among the Hindu community in the Leicester area known as Leuva Patidar which originates from the Surat, Navsari and Valsad districts of India (hereinafter called 'the Community').

(2) The relief of poverty and sickness among the Members of the Community.

(3) The advancement of education among children and adults of the Community.

(4) The provision or assistance in the provision of facilities for the recreation and other leisure time occupation of the Community and in particular of Members of the Community who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life.

Public benefit

The trustees confirm they have complied in main with regards to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit and the activities carried out by the charity during the year were all undertaken in order to further the charity's aims for beneficiaries.

The Trustees are pleased to report that that there no known breaches of the commission's rules for the period.

There is a detailed explanation of the activities carried out during the year under section "Review and activities for the year" below.

Statement of trustees responsibilities

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the charity's financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing financial statements giving a true and fair view, the trustees should follow best practice and:

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements (unincorporated charities)

Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue business.

Review and activities for the year

The Charity met regularly to review its financial strategies and to organise alternative ways to further its objects. The charity resumed its regular in person activities which included a 10-day Navratri Festival, the AGM and Diwali Celebrations, fundraising events, elderly lunch clubs and various regular religious events.

The surplus for the year is £1,031 (2023 surplus £4,618).

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Leuva Patidar Samaj (Surat,Navsari & Valsad District) of Leicester Trust for the year ended 31 December 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
